Hard to flop with Kobe, KD, and Bron just off name alone. Even know the sigs have been pretty lackluster this lady cycle. That's still only 4 guys including Kyrie, all perimeter talents that have their own shoe. The swoosh is pretty selective.

Ewings def have a niche following.

He's in KD's shoe commercial though. A lot of athletes signed with Nike appear in commercials, even AD right now, but to actually get their own sig line, like Kyrie, nah.

I'm sure we'll see KAT and D'LO in spots this year too.
I'm talking about just signing with them not a sig.

Is he signed with them already?

i think they let harden go because they already have davis and pg they could invest in for cheaper with a sig line

but they dropped the ball with steph, thats why they threw kd all that money last year

Nike has been making some stupid decisions in the past few years when it comes to signature athletes.
Giving Kyrie Irving a shoe over 2014-15 MVPs Steph Curry and James Harden. Allowing them to jump ship to rival companies when they could've been locked up with a signature shoe as early as 2013 that would've sold like wildfire
If they don't give Anthony Davis a sig I'll be disgruntled.

In 2011/2012. Kyrie was hailed as the best young prospect in the game. Steph was injury prone and coming off of playing 40 games and averaging 15ppg.

Can you blame Nike if they think Harden isn't worth 200m? I don't think it's crazy to let Harden go when you have AD in tow.

They'll be ard.

I am not too sure about that, their selling that is. There is a reason he was placed in back of the line.

Steph's ankles are why he's not a Nike athlete, Swoosh should have put him in a Kobe 9-esque silhouette after he kept rolling them while walking down the court. Beard will be interesting because he has a unique look and kids love him, but Nike still has basketball in its wheelhouse. I have no idea how the Rose and Lillard do sale wise, but I've never seen anybody hooping in the wild.

vince in his prime was in back of the line to who?

before lebron arrived he was their biggest basketball player unless you want to count mj

Penny.

Vince's shoes didn't sell well, not as well as they should have. I liked them as well. If you see a VC I, II or III retro, then we will know if Nike really gives a dang hut.

:pimp:

I'll never forget that I was in NYC around Christmas time after the Shox BB4 dropped. I was walking on 5th Ave and a kid freaked out when he saw them in a window and started begging his mom to get him some. It was hilarious. Those were nice. And VC jumping over a 7'2" guy in them made the hype even greater.

Man I wanted a pair badly as a younging. Think I was like 13 when they were popping. I remember like all the college bball teams w/ Nike at the time wore the Shox.

Used to think that joint really made you jump higher

penny was washed up by the time vince took off, penny retros are more of a trend because the foams took off

Nike made like, what, 5 or 6 VC sig models? Must have been selling alright for them to go that far with them.

I am not too sure of that either.

In regard to the pecking order, Vince was pure excitement.

But since his teams could not get out of the second round, he never got to the big stage.

There were no halftime VC commercials.

Sports Center highlights, always.

Had Karl Malone and myself complimenting him on his magnetism, ridiculous athleticism.

However, he kept getting hurt in those shox.

People began to notice, and Bruce Bowen became his Lex Luthor.

Penny's had that off court steez.

Contract length.
Dwight Howard sell well?
6 models in, and he is out of there.

Apples to oranges. And Nikes margins are such that the shoes can sell way below retail and they still come out ahead. I'm pretty confident they made money on the VC line.
