I've seen people tear their ACLs and walk off the court looking like nothing happened. It's not like he was a quadraplegic.
This. I know people who tore ACLs and never got them fixed and they're able to walk around. It doesn't make people immobile. The surgery does for a while, if you get it fixed. But that's only for a limited time.
The girl's story may be false, but Rose's injury history is not a good reason to doubt it.
