Agreed. Lakers front office is good. Very smart of Mitch. If they picked Okafur over Deangelo, we'd have another Oden/Durant, Darko/Melo, or Sam Bowie/Mike in my opinion.

That's not exactly it. It's just that division winners will no longer have higher seeding. I think this affected the clippers/blazers this past season

the 1-16 is just the way it needs to be. so we dont have to watch garbage eastern past the first rd anymore.
I'm much rather see a first rd of Lebron vs. The Clippers, The Spurs, The Warriors, The Rockets, and then hear how great he is, then to see him run through a field of dandelions and boast about him being goat.

Carmelo Anthony reportedly called Tim Hardaway Jr. following the New York Knicks' draft night trade of him to the Atlanta Hawks.
The Knicks traded Hardaway to the Hawks for the draft rights to Jerian Grant.
The Knicks also drafted Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth overall pick.
Anthony reportedly expressed "displeasure" with the draft night moves made by Phil Jackson. Anthony feels like the Knicks needed to acquire players who could help immediately.
"He said, 'we have to wait three years for this guy?'"
