They need someone who can help Conley out. He basically does too much and can never take a break. Most elite teams have at least 2 playmakers and we only have 1. Not to mention, he doesn't have enough adequate shooting on the perimeter to make his playmaking abilities more lethal.

Getting Jeff Green midseason was a nice try and at least attempting to improve the perimeter. It actually worked out during the season when he was first acquired. The team started to fall off after TA and Conley got injured later in the season. But, I just don't think Green can get it done. He was dealing with back spasms in the playoffs, but he was so poor that it made me miss Tayshaun Prince.

Been saying this and it always goes unnoticed. It was beyond ridiculous against the Warriors when they had Gasol and Z-bo bringing the ball up the floor in the 4th quarter. When Conley fouled out or was either hurt. The coach took both backup point guards out of the game, I guess that was an analytics move. Serious talk Thibbs as been good with backup point guards maybe they can hire him just for that. From Gilbert Arenas and the others, they have never had anyone who can give Conley any help at the backup point guard postion. The frustrating thing is the window is getting smaller and smaller and may be closed at this point. I like the Grizzlies type of play, but when Conley goes to the bench or they get down by more than 10, it's tough to watch.

Question -- can they afford to have Tony Allen starting another year and not be a threat on the perimeter? Bogut "guarding" him and by that being just close enough not to get an illegal defense was crazy.

I really dont understand how people go out to eat and dont tip. If you go out to eat you tip, regardless of the circumstances.

Its that simple to me, completely black and white. If you dont like your service or what have you, then you tip less (with a floor of 10% if you must, although I would never, 15% is the floor), but not tipping at all? Scumbag behaviour.

Hell naw homie. I tip 99% of the time because 99% of the time I get decent service, but if my service is garbage you get nothing.

KG coming back isnt a good thing. If he wants to mentor young players shouldve became an assistant coach.
Whats the point in having him play 40 games and averaging 5 ppg?
I just hope he gets the vet minimum. If not :smh:

I think him being on the actual court mentoring them is really valuable rather than him screaming from the sidelines and during practices.

kg is still pretty solid given limited minutes. him being vocal on the court is gonna help these young guys

Him being there is gonna help these young guys a lot. Being physically out there is better than screaming from a seat or talking in practice the next day. They're not contending this year anyway so might as well get the trial runs and see what works and what doesn't.

For me, its a little less about a backup PG and more about having a perimeter player that can create / score. Whether its a big combo guard, a true SG or a SF. They need another scorer that can take the pressure off him. Beno was fine last year as a backup and lit Portland up in the 1st round until he got hurt. He was the most efficient mid range shooter in the league last season as well. However, he's old and his defense sucked. I'm fine rolling with Beno or maybe even Russ Smith, but like I said the Grizz need another scorer / playmaker. When they signed VC last year, he fit that mold perfectly off the bench. I mean the guy just came off of 3 seasons in Dallas where he was in the running for 6th man of the year. Then, he got hurt and was never healthy last year. That's why I'm somewhat hopeful of him returning to that guy next season.

Still, a 38-year old VC simply will not be enough. The guy I'm describing to help Conley is basically Jordan Adams. As poor as our perimeter play was last season, Joerger never gave Adams a true shot and he did very well in the little minutes he saw. He can score, handle, create and get to the line. It'll be in their best interest to make sure he's developing this summer and use him as a go to scorer off the bench that can play next to Conley late in games.

As for Tony, I'm in favor of putting him on the bench. But, our wing rotations is poor right now and you cannot realistically say Jeff Green or Matt Barnes is more effective than him as a starter. In spite of his offensive liabilities, he gets it done on the defensive end and changes games solely off of that. But, the Grizz either need to bring another guy in that will force him to the bench or roll with Lee and Barnes. If not traded, I see Green being the combo forward off the bench.

LIke I said, the Grizz can get away with lack of shooting in the regular season. They can also get away with it against most teams in the playoffs, but once they match up with an elite level squad (GSW, SAS), they end up being shown the door. They've beaten LAC, POR and probably could've beat OKC if not for Zbo's suspension with lackluster shooting. But, they cannot get the entire West without it.

KG is Uncle Zel, bruh

KG ain't taking any vet minimum

Especially when he knows how delusional the Timberwolves franchise is from top to bottom - he just got two more years guaranteed.

KG! Don't see how dudes hate on him. He does some buster stuff but his heart on the court is ridiculous.

Kobe over there saying I see you KG. last of a raw breed coming straight outta high school.

Nothing makes you feel old as censored quite like remembering KG being a teenaged rookie and now seeing him be one of the oldest dudes in the league. There are dudes in this thread who weren't walking when KG was a rookie :frown:
