He's only 27 years old.

This is a big life decision. There's nothing wrong with having a change of heart.

This happens all the time in other professions, by the way. We've recruited lawyers to our firm from others, have them say they were going to come over, only to have them change their minds after letting their existing firms know they were planning to leave. Nothing is final until its final.

i've missed a handful of pages as this thread moves way too fast, but what about all the talk implicating that DJ was tired of CP3? was that all a lie/rumors or is it truth? if there's truth to it, how does DJ live with himself knowing that he aired out all his dirty laundry with the clippers, only to be going back to them like dog with its tail between its legs.

I agree shoeking, even without the addition of Lance and Piru, the clippers are a completely different team without DJ. as a GSW fan, I was glad to see DJ leave the clips as he always manages to almost singlehandedly out rebound us. that being said, i've rarely ever used this term, but after this fiasco DJ really strikes me as a soft **** boy.

man get out of here...then he should ve took more time to commit to team rather than u screw up another team from signing another player deadra a sucker for that....plus you left the clips for high school reasons cp3 was being mean to me really smh

Clippers just clinched the title of being the most hated team

You don't think they already had it? In terms of NBA hatred, there's the Clippers and LeBron's team. Everyone else is in tiers below that.

You've never made a choice because you were pressured into it?
he is 27 years old if he was pressured into this by another man it is his fault at the end of the day you have to be smart enough to know what the hell you are getting into

Happens all the time. My firm has been a victim before. [emoji]128514[/emoji] [emoji]128514[/emoji]

Even with the new cap coming?
Yes.

KD's deal will start at approx 27 million at 30% of a 89 million cap.

Clips already have 50 mil committed (just between Blake, CP3 and JJ) for next year without DJ whose deal will start at 20 or so.

yup.. hell partners are made because of what offers are on the table from other firms..

hell, our present senior partner got that position because he told the other partners that position was offered to him at another firm.. they all got down

I hope Hyland is a man of his word. Zero respect for a man that goes back on his word. LAC is dirty for this. Had their pitch and chance. Now everyone is killing them so Chris Paul ready to be a teammate and friend now? **** out of here.

Are you not paying attention? LAC didn't reach out to DJ, he reached out to them fam.

I read both. I read that Rivers and LAC reached out to him. I read that DJ called Doc and said he was unsure. So either way. it's foul on both ends. No one made you agree to sign with Dallas. You could have taken your time. Be a man of your word and respect it.

Dallas ends up doing a S&T for Ellis and gets Hibbert in return?  Lakers SOL?

Not sure you'd get another team to go back on their word because of butterfly effect.

Maybe adds Dallas into it where they get players from LA. But honestly doubt Indy pulls out of deal.

but your law firm aint tryna bring home the title this year over somebody switching up either

What's being missed here is that DJ is the one that felt he was making a mistake and reached out to Doc, not the other way around.

Terrance Jones did a similar F Boy move minutes after committing to Washington. Had the ceremony and everything. Called Cal immediately after crying like a baby saying he made a mistake lol.

UW could've had Terrance Jones, Wroten, CJ Wilcox and Terrance Ross. Sheesh.
yoooooo I remember this

Come on man, it happens all the time.

Young people make rash decisions all the time, only to regret them.

If he personally feels like he made a mistake with his life and can correct it, then why not correct it while he can?

Sure it screws up what Dallas was trying to do but at the end of the day if you're DJ you have to do what you honestly feel is best for you. Living with regret is the worst, especially when you're living with a decision that you may have not even made.

And that CP3 business is horse asterisk, and had very little bearing on him committing to the mavs.

Wont matter Clippers or Mavs aint gonna be in the Finals good luck with that 5th seed if that ....out West
This is true, DJ comes back they're only elevated from a 7 or 8 seed to battling with the Rockets and Grizz for that 4/5 slot.

Conceptually I feel Deandre on it. I just did the same thing. I was promoted at my job two months ago and I already quit. My last day is tomorrow, cause I got a new job elsewhere. . Do I feel bad Yeah, but I has to do what's best for me.

Our situations are not equal though, I don't have the same level of choice when it comes to my perspective employers as he does and it changes things a bit.

But everyone's entitled to change their mind. This just breaks an unwritten code of conduct for nba free agency don't think that can be argued. That's where my problem is. If he was so unsure he shouldn't have jumped the gun or let someone else make this decision for him.

Very true

Only on NT, where you can't change your mind

You can change your mind but he didn't have to agree to terms. He could have told every team that was interested in him, I want to wait and think about it for a week. He chose to agree and commit. This is on him. Be a man of your word.

And this is what Cuban gets for being a lil asterisk about "basketball reasons".

DJ is a asterisk too if he goes back.

Buncha losers all around.

QFT. Deandre. Mavs. Clippers. Cuban. Parsons. Pierce. Clippers. They're all asterisk boys. Asterisk them all

From what I'm hearing DJ didn't like how cp3 was being portrayed. Yes they were never going to be best friends but it also wasn't as serious as some were saying
