The initial suggestion of zone wasn't an idea for the team the Cavs played with in the Finals.
It was mentioned after Love was brought up as a piece that the Cavs could have benefited from in the "Finals Only".
Dude said Cavs need Love but only in the Finals.
Somebody said Love couldn't guard anybody of the defensive end.
OP said his offense would have outweighed that, keep his offense and run a zone if you have to.
Next, several interpreters rang in saying a zone against shooters was a bad idea.
Basically, 2 what ifs(Having Love, and using a zone if the first what if happened) led to several posts about zones being bad for jumps shooting teams.
The stretches in the offseason thread have begun. Debating something that's not real

What if the Sixers convince the Magic they really want Kristaps and get them to give up Elfrid and #5 for him? Then for the future they'd have Payton with Hezonja and Covington on the wings and Noel, Embiid and Saric down low.

good observation, A. And I agree with op. Love's offense would have outweighed his defense. Do what you have to on the offensive end to get Love's points. It's like when I was in high school and your teacher has everyone line up. She whispers something to the first person to see if it makes it all the way to the last person. It never does. *Not really the same but that's what it made me think of.

The team was handing out free Tees and hats all over LA yesterday as part of the official launch of the new logo. Doc, Ballmer, Ralph Lawler, cheerleaders, etc. all made personal appearances to hand stuff out to people.
