Not relevant but Gilbert Arenas always taking his jersey off after the game and giving it to a fan was ******* awesome when you think about it

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources say that the Sacramento Kings have offered Wes Matthews a three-year deal in the $45 million range

oh man.... :wow:

So Wes Matthews = Chandler Parsons. Hmph

I was talking about this at work today.

If Parsons was a fa this year he would be getting 5-70 from someone

His 3yr deal was more than this.
Did you add wrong or you think he's worth less?

He signed for 46 mil

70>46

70 is the most he could have got from a team unless it was Houston

DJ a Max Player Though?

Dog what?

Yes he 100% is.

There's only a few players in a league who are max guys regardless of team structure and circumstance.

DJ isn't one of those guys. Relative to the clippers situation and ability to contend in the west, he's absolutely a max level player which means the clippers are gonna pay him the max. Any other team who wants his services has to compete with the clippers thus throwing max level contracts at him.

Given the current salary cap structure DJ is easily a max player and the only way you can think he isn't is if you don't understand how the cap works and just assume max contract=best player on team

Not only this, but the clippers have no other options. They are virtually over the cap regardless and can only offer DJ the max because they have his birds rights

Because of their cap, they have virtually no way to pay a player of competence to replace DJ if he were to leave. Then when you factor in that he was all nba, led the league in rebounding, rim protection, the basketball stuff, it's like the clippers have no choice but to give him the max.

He'd get way more than 5/70, Today, Parsons would.

3/46 or 5/70, 3/46 for sure, he'd be like 5/105 easy if now was then or whatever

15 > 14.

Wes Matthews Update: Sacramento offer to free-agent swingman is actually four-year deal at $16 million annually for total of $64 million

DJ has no offensive game though to be a max....dont you gotta be decent on both sides of the court ? :nerd:

Being one of the best finishers in the league, an elite PNR guy and a constant alley oop + offensive rebound threat counts as MORE than a decent offensive game. Please guys. Plz.

If Sac can get Rondo and Matthews, that's actually not too bad of a look

Rondo
Matthews
Rudy
WCS
Cousins

you don't have to deserve a max contract to get a max contract these days. You just have to have a team desperate enough to spend the money and make you a max guy.

These owners are printing money. The day their profit is low is the day guys start getting closer to what they deserve.

1. He does. He has one of the most unique offensive skillsets in the league. He's an elite finisher off p&r and his dives to the hoop alone create lanes to the basket and open shot for others

2. Whether he does or not doesn't matter. With him, the clippers are contenders and he's an all nba performer in his own right. Without him they aren't. It's that simple. And it's not like they can go and replace him either
