All I'm saying is that there are much more important inconsistencies in the rules that need to be resolved that travels that happen 30-90 feet away from the basket when you know full well that its not like they had a reason to travel.

Is it ok that NBA players are spacing out like that? Nah, but we can get that handled once real abuse of the rules and subpar officiating is resolved.

Caping for Bron? I have no vested interest in what LeBron James does nor am I a fan of the Cavs or a devout fan of his.

I'm just not ready to have refs start going crazy off a guy taking a step off the inbound before he dribbles 90 feet away from the basket when we have better things to worry about.

You want them to
so nba players should be allowed to travel while college, high school players and even kids at the park can abide by the rules just fine.  got it.

and ur mos def a lebron apologist dont lie to yourself
Refs aren't even looking for those things, they're probably taught not to. They have to watch for more blatant rule abuse. Its easy for us to see this stuff with TVs and have full view of whats transpiring on the court, but do you really think that a ref is watching players feet 90FT away from the basket when they have to run back down the court and look for other things?

Again, not saying its OK, but I understand why its not called.
What I said above in regards to this. As for the LeBron apologist part, no idea where you're getting that from, I dont think anyone else who frequents this thread would label me as such.

Like I said earlier a part of the problem is that this whole traveling thing is now centered around LeBron. This has been going on forever, you could really find instances of dozens of other players making these travels. This could have been addressed 15 years ago, but now its become the fuel for sensationalist journalism and centered around one player like the entire league isnt doing it.

You're the one that keeps bringing LeBrons name into this, I have been speaking about the officiating in general.

Agree with this. I don't like ticky tack calls, realistically an official could blow the whistle every time down if they went strictly by the book. 3 seconds is a good example, I like how it's only called if guys are seriously camping because that's the spirit of the rule -- don't camp, it's a lame way to play.

What really needs to be cleaned up is a guy like chris paul shoving defenders with his off arm 20 times a game. That's a situation where the defender is doing his job the right way and his opponent still gains an advantage despite not being skilled enough to do his job and get separation

Of all the offenders who use the guard arm in this way... You skipped over the clear cut worst perpetrator and chose cp3. This is funny to me. Your point still stands and I 100% agree... But we all know you can think of someone worse than cp3 who shoves the defender off

I can feel what you said in reference to me. I just want ALL the inconsistencies cleaned up at the same time. The only call a foul if he misses, the travel is ok if they're a star, the carry is ok if its flashy enough etc etc. Either follow the rule, or get rid of the rule imo
Agreed. This is just a part of a larger issue, inconsistent officiating. The traveling thing is just at the bottom of my list of things they need to address, and I understand that the refs just dont care about calling it.

a ref actually said this? i mean we say all the time through the course of watching a game that 'damn, you know he only called that weak spit because he missed'....but to actually come out and confirm it...bruh...just cuz i made the shot, son still fouled the dogs hit out of me. gimme my call.

Yea the ref said it. My problem is... What happens when he let's that call go, and then the Warriors lose in overtime. All the sudden that missed call decided the game. Calls have a butterfly effect on games. They're too wishy-washy with calls

Chris paul is as bad as anyone when it comes to this. I mean lebron is bad too but cp3 is the worst. That game winner against San antone in the playoffs. ...blatant and excessive. Like he really puts all the power he can muster into it when he pushes off. Marshawn lynch woulda been proud of that stiff arm. Just something that really irks me

Actually, Lebron is the worst. No bias.

I guess Brad Stevens would have had to say what Phil said in order for people to feel like he had a point.

Instead...its "Phil's old and salty".

It's definitely a 1a 1b situation with those two

It's really not even close. I agree cp3 gave a shove. Lebrons go to move is to lower his head, strong dribble to the rim while using the off arm to either swim someone out of the way or flat out shove them off like a stiff arm. It's not even close. At all. It's not even almost close.

literally not eeem on the same planet.

your actually happy with that is it happens?

Why wouldn't we be? Have you seen who has been playing SF for us for the past few seasons? Even old *** Pierce will be an upgrade. Plus, if he comes to the Clips it will be for the vet's minimum, so its a pretty low risk move.

Anyone NOT excited to have Paul Pierce on their team is an idiot. That's a great addition for low price. Clippers were dangerous last year. I don't necessarily like them dripping Barnes, but the threat of their outside shooting just took a huge jump

I really doubt it will be the vet's minimum. I think it'll be the MLE

how can anybody not be excited to have the truth on the roster? Dude balled this post season. Literally .01 second away from forcing a game 7 on some g spit.
