Wall wasn't even dissing Reggie, he was just referring to the folks that said he was over paid back when Wall signed that 90 Million Deal.

In 2014-15:
John Wall: 17.6 PPG, 2.61 AST/TO, 4.6 RPG, 19.9 PER
Reggie Jackson (in DET): 17.6 PPG, 2.61 AST/TO, 4.7 RPG, 19.8 PER

There's also this thing called defense that Reggie is terrible at and Wall is one of the best at his position.

I knew that was coming

Does this mean people will stop ranking Kyrie Irving over Wall ? :nerd:

And Reggie had a down year just like a lot of solid defenders in the NBA. The year before last, he actually had a positive DRPM, while Wall actually had a negative DRPM. The roles just reversed this season.

Of course, Wall is the better player. But, I don't consider Reggie Jackson some poor defender all because he had a bad year defending at his position, when his offensive load increased. He's at least average for the most part. Mike Conley had a negative DRPM this season, but I think we all know he's a high level defender. Westbrook also had a negative DRPM last season. Both guys increased their offensive output as well and carried a heavier load. Usually when your offense goes up you try a little less on defense.

Reggie did that for less than half a season tho
A million reasons why that comparison is a huge reach

John wall lost some ratings from me for watching a mans pockets. He might as well Reggie Daddy

And if Reggie doesn't lead Detroit to the playoffs then what?

I hate this argument  If AD misses the playoffs last year because OKC healthy, then what? He's not that good? Some people actually would believe that, though  .

I don't think anyone considers Reggie a better player, but its just funny that the one guy he was talking about had similar numbers as a starter through 40 games (OKC/DET). The reporter that asked him just wanted a reaction out of him. A better question would've been to ask about Goran Dragic making MORE than him

I've seen Flip Murray put up insane numbers in 27 games.

Not taking anything away from Reggie Jackson, but that VERY SMALL sample size is not comparable to Wall at all.

Reggie did a lot of work against backups as well. His breakout game was vs memphis without Conley. I think lowry got hurt in the first quarter vs toronto and a few more examples. His offensive load isn't going down and that was with Drummond behind him. If you watched him, he was visibly bad on defense

Exactly.

March and April are the prime times to put up great numbers. All the rookies and above average players on bad teams do this when teams rest, don't try hard etc.

I know Reggie can hoop. But it's very lazy to act like his 27 game body of work is similar to what we've seen from John Wall.

No wonder why the Kings made these moves.

JASON LEVIEN. The same guy the Grizz fired because he was trying to be sneaky and go against what the FO wanted. Now, it makes sense that they hired Karl as well because Levien loved Karl during the interview process at Memphis.

It all makes sense...I think I may change my mind about the Kings now if this guy is the one making the calls. He's bound to try and sabotage the franchise just like he tried to do Memphis before Pera got rid of him.

Also, the thing with Reggie...I don't see why he cannot duplicate those numbers next season as a full time starter. Not exactly sure what his shooting %'s will be, but he's definitely going to put up numbers barring injury. He has every opportunity to do it. Whether they produce wins or not is another story. The way I look at it, Reggie playing 27 games and putting up those numbers will not be the argument at the end of next season if he does it. The argument will be about his defense, the team not making the playoffs or something else  . I'll rather you guys stick to those arguments than talk about the numbers like he's not capable of duplicating this next season.

Wall's public comments on other players money, the Las Vegas plane incident and PP choosing to play for the Clippers for half the money the Wizards offered

I dont know man

Reggie shot wayyy over his career 3p% and I don't think he can duplicate that. Then again svg did make a shooter out of jennings so I wouldn't be too surprised

He shot the same percentage from 3 in the previous season too. 33% isn't good anyways and he doesn't take enough 3's nor make enough for that to be considered a high percentage of his production. He barely made 1 a game last season and that number was consistent throughout his career.

Anyone who even argues Reggie Jackson can sniff John Wall's level should not be allowed to ever speak about basketball again.

Who's arguing that he's on John Wall level?

Just talking about the stat lines. He was mentioned by Wall and the guy basically put up similar numbers as he did. No that doesn't mean on the same level, but its funny nevertheless.

I'm still wondering why Dragic making $85M is flying under the radar, though. This is a guy who's not going to improve and is basically is who he is. Plus, he's not an all-star, either. He would've made for better conversation.

I can't even believe this is an actual debate. Let's see how Reggie Jackson runs a squad full time before we start comparing him to somebody that did exactly what his franchise drafted him #1 to do.
