Yeah, I don't see Cousins in Sac for much longer. I think he's out in 2-3 seasons. Don't think he wants to be on a losing team forever or a dreadful organization. That's why you move him now if you get a lot for him.

i dont know...do people really think cousins is gonna stay long term with the kings if it were up to him? or would he leave money on the table first chance he gets?
He's the first thing smoking out of there.
George Karl or not, we all know Boogie doesn't want to be there.

Why delay the inevitable?
While I do agree with that, I feel as though that's a huge problem with the league today. Some execs tend to just sit on talent for 2-3 seasons, don't build a squad, and the blame game begins. The Kings, Wolves, and 76'ers are  examples. Phily really could have just kept Vucevic, Holiday, and Carter-Williams, and they wouldn't be in the mess that they are in now. The Wolves only got Wiggins because Love didn't want to stay, and the Kings just make bad decisions every month.

Players are getting smarter, and the sport is evolving. Talented players don't want to play for teams that just want to have the star drop 24ppg for 5 seasons with no other teammates. Your not going to win in this day and age without a solid squad behind a core of players.

George Karl proved he could win 50 something games with Ty Lawson as his best player.

2013 Nuggets anyone? He'll figure it out.
Karl won without Melo. I'm sure he can without Cousins.

this isn't really true though

he just wants to be surrounded with good teammates. kings aren't capable of doing that

it you say so. The writing has been on the wall. He's constantly clashed with coaches there, and the one coach he had a good relationship with got fired and that clearly pissed him off.

It's a lot more to it than "he just wants good teammates".

Yea Cousins definitely looking gone. I can see him winding up with the Lakers, not for that weak offer of the # 2 pick though. Sounds like some straight Pau Gasol for the pick that fortunately turned in to Marc Gasol type BS.

Define "Won", because some people don't really consider making the playoffs and being bounced out in round one as winning.

Not saying that its my opinion but winning  could easily be something else other than that.

That's more than what Sacramento had going over the last 5 years or so  . Maybe that's all they want is to try and make the playoffs. If Karl feels like he can do it without Cousins and Rudy, then so be it. Let Karl "think" he can make the playoffs.

The Los Angeles Lakers are interested in trading for Sacramento Kings forward DeMarcus Cousins, as ESPN's Marc Stein has reported, and are willing to give up the No. 2 pick for him, but a source close to the Kings tells ESPN's Chris Broussard that owner Vivek Ranadive will not allow coach George Karl to trade Cousins.

Karl has been given the power to make draft picks and engineer some trades, the source told Broussard, but Karl, so far, has not been allowed to move Cousins.

...

A source told Broussard that Karl is interested in Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson. If the Kings owner eventually allows Karl to trade Cousins, Denver also might be a strong suitor for Cousins, though a source told Broussard that Karl would consider trading forward Rudy Gay for Lawson.

I'd love to see what you call what Sacramento has done the last 5 years then.

Remember in 2012-2013 when Melo left? Yall were slurping GK's fast paced, positionless selfless basketbal en route to 50+ wins and a #3 seed in the West.

I'd take that any day over cousins leading me to 35 wins. Not saying that's what will happen, but it's not crazy to think GK can't win or put something together without him.

After this upcoming season, the Kings will have gone 10 years without a playoff appearance.

Last 7 years they've had 50+ losses, excluding the lockout year when they lost 44 in 66 games.

They'd be elated if Karl can muster a playoff run, no matter how short it is.

CP is ready to drop the George Karl is stubborn and overrated thesis. Stuff is gold.

I don't have to, my posts are floating among the board, surely one of our search detectives can pull my work better than I.

The Boston Celtics have offered Marcus Smart and picks No. 16 and 28 in the first round to the Philadelphia 76ers for Nerlens Noel and the No. 3 pick.

The 76ers were not interested in the trade offer.

The Celtics have also been interested in trading for DeMarcus Cousins.

Celtics must be trolling right?

Tears @ Nerlens AND #3

Serious question, of the Kings haven't made the playoffs with cousins, why would you want to fire a winning coach that might make them without him?

Imagine ...
