no one cares about lebron giving out scholarships. jeez. come on.

plenty of nba dudes give back. lebrons pr game catching up. no one talks bout kobes foundation, or gasol visiting children hospital and all that. but people will. glorify lebron like he some statue erecting candidate.

 Damn, calm down. You sounding extra salty just cause Lebron is getting love for doing something nice.

What you talking about nobody talks about other people's foundations or charitable works? I see people mention the nice gestures from other athletes ALL the time in here. No matter what player it is, it's always nice to see these rich @ss folk give back.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES - Los Angeles Lakers perennial all-star guard Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa will receive the Bill Sharman Humanitarian Award at a gala benefiting the Toberman Neighborhood Center on Saturday.

The award will be presented to the Bryants by Lakers President Jeanie Buss. The gala will be held at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Or this

While in Memphis on Tuesday to play the Grizzlies, Pau Gasol joined his brother Marc for a visit to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The Lakers forward/center has a long relationship with St. Jude, dating back to his days with the Grizzlies (2001-08).

"I [visit] every year at St. Jude," said Gasol on a telephone interview with The Times. "I do it a few times a year here at the children's hospital in L.A."

But nobody talks about Bryant or Gasol

This LBJ campaign, "I promise". Has the dude been poisoned with Rogaine or something. Ever since he stunted and whispered to Wade that he‘d be returning back to Cleveland, his group has tried so hard to reformat peoples impression of him. But you cant mask character. After fumbling in the Finals, cramping up mysteriously, abusing coach Blatt, and taking vacations at will, Lebron is again working to clean up his image.

Good lord. The whole, pitch resurfaces again about home coming back to Akron. Yup, he wont have a statue for his on court stuff, but maybe a civil statue.

Can't mask character?

All of those things you mentioned pale in comparison to cheating on your wife and being on trial for rape

I'm at 999 Reps?

How'd that happen

That's what happens when you're a professional athlete. You get scrutinized. I agree with Sea that the article is worded to make him look good.

Random Aside: I'm taking computer programming lessons and Chris Bosh appears in a lot of instructional videos. I thought that was cool. Dude seems really dorky/cool in them.

i sometimes do wonder had Kobe not done what he did in denver, his popularity might‘ve been even bigger and the hate and points of weakness would be less talked about. people really forget how crazy the HEIR star search during that time. he was clean as hell and had everything going for him.. oh well.

i dunno why he wont try for a boy to help the family line.

Grats on 1k reps bro!

You are now officially a better person than small sons with three figure rep numbers

Any stuff NBA players do to give back is cool with me. I'm not going to get caught up in comparing and/or ranking. Lebby is Lebby, so anything he does is going to get more media attention. Even if that's part of what he's doing charitable stuff for, I still give him credit for what he's doing

Regardless of the intentions, the end result is some kids are benefiting from this so it's cool in my books. And I'm a LeBron hater

So, let's take a look at the guards from last night...

Demar Derozan
Bradley Beeal
Elfrid Payton
Victor Oladipo
Arron Afflalo
Michael Carter-Williams
Klay Thompson
CJ Watson

He's not eem better than CJ Watson  He's the 5th best guard on his own team behind Paul, JJ, Lance and Crawful. :x
Stop it 5. You wish you had Crawford on your team

And, I should add that I support LeBron's charity despite thinking that going to college is way overemphasized in this country. Nothing wrong with going straight into a trade if you have the aptitude for it. For example, my 9 year old son somehow tought himself how to install landscape lighting at our house. Did it successfully last week. No need for college now. Only question is how soon I can start hiring him out as an electrician.

i think if you emancipate him you can do it at a younger age.  Maybe

@ShamsCharania: Free agent center Keith Benson has agreed to a training camp deal with the Miami Heat, league source tells RealGM. He was 48th pick in 2011.

My dad owns his own landscape lighting company and is constantly in need of young, smart employees.

Ship him your son, lawdog.
