Sources: Marc Gasol not taking meetings other than with Grizzlies

In the latest signal Marc Gasol is going nowhere in free agency, the Memphis Grizzlies center is scheduling no meetings with rival teams interested in him, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that Gasol will instead host a contingent of Grizzlies officials in his native Spain on Wednesday morning, raising the possibility that a verbal agreement on a new contract will quickly follow.

Marc cut teams off quick  . I hope Memphis truly does bring in some perimeter help for him and not just Matt Barnes :x

Yall are bugging with the Draymond Green's value being limited outside Golden State stuff...

Shocker of the century right here.

good luck staying with memphis... they are a good team but will never come out the west... too many teams to compete with to get to the finals... marc should consider the east since its an easier road just dont know which team he would be a good fit for him...

Draymond is great, but some things are more hidden on a team like Golden State. He will still have a similar impact in terms of being a defensive leader, making hard nosed plays, rebounding, etc., but his shooting and shot selection is one of the things hidden in Golden State. Its definitely something he can improve on, but I would be interested in seeing how well he plays in more of a half court system. If he comes back next year shooting around 36-37% from 3 :x

Maybe not, but you can say that about every team in the West outside of maybe 3 teams  . If Memphis tries to bring back the same roster as last season and not make any definite improvements on the perimeter, I will be pretty upset. Its clear this team needs another scorer to help take the pressure off Conley and they have ignored it since they moved off Rudy. Not necessarily a "shooter", we've had shooters. We need a 4th scorer. I guess they were expecting Jeff Green to become that guy, but that was a fail  .

It says a lot about Marc and the Grizz if he stays. He's a pretty smart guy and money is the last thing on his mind. I know he felt like the Spurs would realistically be his only other shot at winning a title, so he must truly think Memphis can get it done with the right moves. They always seem to get the injury bug come playoff time, but I don't think they should use that as an excuse not to improve the perimeter.

Elite defensive stretch forward who is going to grind his *** off and compete every night?

I'll bet on him shooting it better over the next couple of years because I completely believe he'll work his *** off to get better.

Must be a pain for Luke to have to figure out where he's going to find all these colorways for the Kobe Vs every time he gets traded.

Reminds me of when Quentin Richardson got traded like four or five times in summer of 2009.

magic-grizzlies-hornets-thunder-raptors.. for now

also:

The Thunder sent cash to the Raptors in the deal, and Oklahoma City gets the draft rights to Tomislav Zubcic. A $2.85 trade exception has also been created for the Thunder, which they may or may not use.

Draymond going somewhere like NY on a max deal would be very similar to Lance going to Charlotte last year. You don't want Draymond as your 2nd option. You want him as your 3rd or 4th option.

With role players like that, fit is everything.

Draymond was just the 2nd best player on a championship squad. He'd be fine as the 2nd option anywhere.

Draymond will be exposed if a team thinks he's a #1 option. Like others have said, he's a perfect fit for what the Warriors do.

Its a difference between being a 2nd option and being the 2nd best player on a team due to your intangibles  . Iggy won the Finals MVP, but I don't think you want him as your 1st or 2nd option on any playoff team.

Let's not ignore that he did play with the MVP and one of the best SG's in the league in a high octane offense. He's good, but you're setting yourself up for failure if you think making him the 2nd option on a playoff team will make that team more successful or he would produce these big time numbers. I just don't see him as that type of player.
