Not sure it will work.. But the Lakers in a pitch can say "We take care of our stars." And I'm sure they do. That is a decent selling point they can make.

The Kobe contract really only prevents them from getting a mid-tier player on top of a star. If they strike out on everybody, they could still afford 2.



Would it be better if Kobe was making $12.5mil? Of course.
