Emanuel AME : Charleston South Carolina shooting has left at least 8 dead.

Question about the families forgiving

People say other are so quick to have black people forgive...

But was the MEDIA pressuring them to do it? Or did they do it on their own..

I swear I feel black people apologize AMD excuse things that no one asks them to due to some deep seeded issues mixed on with EXTREME Christianity that many white famb don't live by...

we've been conditioned and it goes back to slavery

^ my daughter got two cousins on her other side that are biracial....the white grandmother be saying all kinda racist **** to them. I feel bad for them but not the dumbass dad for laying up with that trash chick. I don't see how a brother lay up with a white woman whose family don't accept them

I honestly don't feel any remorse or pity or sympathy for any black person who lays with a white person (hispanic or not) and then ends up in a bad situation with their fam

I had this conversation with some people in my family. It rubbed me the wrong way when I saw that lady on TV crying saying she forgives the shooter so I brought it up to my family, it got kinda heated. They were telling me those are her beliefs and that's how she makes peace with it. I understand that but I didn't like the message it sent. We're always told to forgive and move on but yet you never hear white people saying they forgive terrorist groups or they need to move from tragedies.

Tariq spoke some truth on it. Starts at 4:00.

I don't like the message it sends, but at the same time I'm don't think we should be getting on someone that just lost a family member on how they should be coping with a lost.

forgive these white supremacist in private.....stop taking that **** to the public/media

like it's a running joke among white people about how forgiving black folks are

BTW, more and more I find myself not being able to sit down and listen to Tariq.

Still find he a source of good info, but before I thought brother could break situations down and illuminate its nuances.

Now it just seems like he rants and rants, and allows himself to be willfully uninformed at times

But dude is an entertainer, so I guess once he locked in on his target audience, he is gonna turn it up a notch.

Racism is really and crimes against specific races should be treated as such, HATE CRIMES. Once you let people know people that **** won't be tolerated the rest weeds itself out. Like when a cop kills a black man an gets away with it who has a a bigger fault the cop or the system that let him get away with it. In these cases we as nation rebel and resent the wrong people. When Mike Brown got shot and Eric Garner died the public shouldn't have terrorized every cop in America. That where we all ****** up. We shouldn't have called all cops pigs and pieces of garbage. The judicial system ****** up. You let someone get away with **** once and then all the racists know that they will not endure any consequences. Rallying against the cops or this kid isn't going to fix ****. Fight the judicial system who's gonna let this punk kid walk free in 10 years. Fight the judicial system who's letting these cops run around with a "get out of jail free" card. We as minorities are fighting the wrong people and picking the wrong fights. As a young Mexican male I may not feel the same oppression a young black male feels by any level but it still exists.

aint no way im forgiving a killer 3 days after

that's my stance right now

the act was way to violent to just throw forgiveness so fast

I agree. But after someone just sustain a lost like that, I don't think the black community should pile on them on how they process their grief.

it is find as a community to build that code of conduct.

But to lecture someone that just lost a loved one. Yeah, they get a past from me on that

Would have like a better reaction, but still, grieve how you want

Stop and listen for a second brah

And not saying every black person that does this forgiveness steez gets a pass.

I'm saying if you loved one is just murdered, and you in your feels, and that is how you're processing it, then I ain't gonna be mad at the person for slippin up.

And I don't think the community you pile on a person that slips up like that. They are hurting, they are trying to process it.

I'm not a about the forgiveness game either, but I'm not gonna lecture someone that on how to process their grief

I know my emotions and actions were all over the place when my dad died on natural causes. So I can't even imagine having to personally deal with something like.

Already told my family if I get killed by a race soldier DO NOT run to the media forgiving that dude

That's the quickest way to make me roll in my grave

I think Marcus I'd more referring to how its such a quick reaction to forgive...

Like... How sincere is it?

And + 1 on Tariq. Some stuff is cool. Some is meh...

Politically connected black christian church gets attacked and responds in the exact manner in which Jesus would approve of.

Simple isn't it....

But the real question is Do you think the messages in the bible are beneficial to our progress or not?

If you spend time to research and think for the answer to that.... you will probably get your mind blown breh....

I get what Marcus is saying, and agree.

I'm just saying, if I know someone just took a lost like that, I'm willing to give them a past. Or at least understand they' ain't in the right mind to know how bad a look it is.

I'm not worrying about the sincerity from those people. Cause that hollow apology might just be the way for them to process their grief. Or they might think that is the "Christian" thing for them to do.

I definitely don't like it but, Like Chris Rock says "Not saying it is right, but I understand"

I can sit back and judge and Monday morning quarterback that that lady's move all I want. At the end of the day I didn't lose anyone. 9 of my people got killed, but one of that person's family member did.

So i don't see how saying "The sister was wrong for that, it was not good look in any way. But she grieving so lets not channel our frustration at her. But the next time this happens to anyone one of these in the community, we shouldn't go the forgiveness route"

My understanding only extends to people that lost a loved one doe. Not the people hooping on TV talking "We is got to forgive and start healing" steez
