Anything Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis x Janet deserves some attention. Sounds like a lost cut from The Velvet Rope to me.

Control to Rhythm Nation to janet. to The Velvet Rope IMO might be the one of the greatest runs of R&B albums in my era, so obviously I'm pretty hyped for the return.

Some remixes worth your time:

And the SLEPT ON DJ Premier remixes

Janet Jackson - All For You Remix -

Mariah lost her voice (and had some terribly written songs),  Janet's selling point never really been her voice

Not to take anything away from Mariah, but Janet's an all-around entertainer. The way the industry blacklisted her after the Super Bowl was some BS as well. Her concert tickets are selling out left & right. Managed to snag some for me and the wife in Charlotte :smokin

So is Madonna but 50 year olds selling sex appeal doesn't really work

We're talking about 2 totally different artists. Sex appeal is just one aspect of what they bring to the table. When that fades, they still have their enormous catalogue of hits.

This pretty much. It seems like Mariah's been trying to keep up with having a modern sound, but it's not working out too well IMO. Whereas Janet kinda just stays in her own music lane and is this all encompassing artist (great choreo, voice is decent at best and production is usually on point). I'm not gonna front like the last couple of albums haven't been bricks, but if this single is any indication she's definitely back on the right track.

Sorry for sidetracking the discussion of the single which i really liked, and im glad it wasn't going after the 120+ BPM stuff, but are there any other R&B people to check out that are rocking this sort of sound now. The 65-70 bpm trap beat R&B songs are cool but this is just to damn smooth and i need more of it.

Well Miguel's new album is about to drop and I'm sure it's be in his vein of production.

I'm really liking the song, Unbreakable. I can't really describe the beat, but there's a refined earthiness to it.

Sounded like it

I actually dig a few songs on here

I played Lesson Learned and Black Eagle more than once

Wow, a really nice mix of songs on this album. She touched a lot of genres here.

BURNITUP is very hype. Hope she slays the choreo if they release a video for it.

reading the lyrics Broken Hearts Heal hit me right in the feels.. RIP MJ

It was a long long time ago
But I remember it like yesterday
Amazing times while we were growing
Round all the brightest stars the world had seen
We made-up songs to do our chores to
And harmonized while we all did our part
Danced and sang our way through most anything
Always felt safe in each others' love

It was in summer that you left me
The fall and winter never felt so cold
And Lord knows words can never express it
Life feels so empty I miss you much
Painful tears like never before
We can't laugh together till we cry
But our love's ain't no material thing
Inshaallah*, see you in the next life (*translates to God willing)

Broken hearts heal
Stronger
Broken hearts last
Longer
Broken hearts heal
Stronger
Ooh ooh ooh
La da da da la la

But our love ain't no material thing
Inshaallah, see you in the next life
It was a long long time ago
But yet it seems just like yesterday
Such amazing times while growing up
Always felt safe in each others' love
It was a long long time ago
The fall and winter felt so cold
But our love ain't no material thing
Inshaallah, see you in the next life
But our love is so much more than just material
Til the next life, inshaallah
