It's odd that the NFL would suspend Ward 15 months after the fact, less than two weeks before the season began. It's also add that the news drops on the same day as the DeflateGate appeal ruling.

GOODELL MAKING TJ HIS SCAPEGOAT

EFF YOU ROGER

Players better get all they can now. During the next negotiations they are gonna get hammered. NFLPA just screwed themselves for one man. Ha ha ha

A lot of owners thought this whole thing was a waste of time though. They're even side eyeing Goodell for appealing the ruling today. Every owner wants this crap to go away already. :smh:

Source on any of this?

Because everything out there says the complete opposite of what you're saying.

The judgment means the collective bargaining agreement doesn't mean anything. If the players bargain gave Goodell total power and that doesn't hold up, then nothing does. This is a huge mess.

If I was a owner, anything in the agreement I don't like I'd go to court about now. Screw the players. They don't have to abide by what was bargained then I wouldn't either.

It's the other way around from what I'm hearing.

Remember he works for the owners.

I'm guessing he wouldn't have taken it as far as he did if he didn't have the owners blessings..

Plus, plenty of owners spoke out in favor of him during this whole deflate gate saga. Jerry being one.

The NFL isn't worried about Tom anymore. Their appeal is about maintaining the bargaining agreement. Without that you have chaos.

I believe the main point of the Brady case was that Goodell didn't follow the CBA. It doesn't mean Goodell has no power, it just means he needs to follow the CBA.

If anything Goodell needs to tone down the punishment, it doesn't help anybody tangibly.

Until sponsors leave, ratings stop rising, and/or attendance at NFL games drop... Roger isn't going anywhere.

For every person that stops watching the NFL because of Roger Goodell, three more are buying NFL Sunday Ticket/Redzone.

Like him or not, he keeps the NFL interesting.

Here's the problem. What Brady was accused of was on field cheating. The integrity of the game is more important then off field issues. You can't compare the two.

It's why Pete Rose was banned for life and known off the field dirtbags are in the HOF. The crimes aren't simular at all. Goodells job is to protect the game, not do what the legal system is suppose to do.

Betting on MLB games you manage is not the same as an equipment issue.

Look at similar equipment misconduct.

What were the punishments for the Chargers, Vikings or Jay Feely?

The NFL could not even prove Brady was involved in deflating the balls. Goodell just said HE didn't find Brady's story believable.

It is the same and here's how. Competitive advantage. Rose was a player and manager. His play and moves as a manager could effect the game on field influenced by betting.

I'm not for or against Tom. I have enough to worry about being a Skins fan. Any sane person would know and many HOF QBs have stated that there is no way you can't tell a difference in pressure. I don't think it's a big deal because I'm sure many have done it. You just can't have the public in anyway believe there isn't a level playing field and the games fixed towards one team to win. It's WWE at that point.

NFL network is interviewing random fans in Boston. It's the funniest thing I've seen. One guy said he knows Brady had no idea and wasn't involved in any of it. Another said he wasn't worried, their backup could have won the next few games. Final guy said it was payday so he went down to buy a Brady jersey today as a tribute to him.

Is Robbery Griffin playing tonight???

Sounds like a typical Thursday in Boston.

NFL network should've hit up Dorchester for some interviews, that would be comedy.
