What did RGIII do to be considering an Tom?

Isn't that guys like Clarence Thomas?

Republican and white wife. Right or wrong that's it.

FYI: being a republican to a lot of young blacks especially in DC your seen as Toms. The party during the party chair elections had one member who put out a Obama the magic negro song and another who had to give up his white only country club membership in order to run. That's just a small example. Being a DMV native you can't help but be up on politics. Probably more so then the rest of the country.

Republicans always have a racial undertone to their stances. Mexicans being the latest media victims thanks to Trump who's running as a Republican. If these are the members of your party and you roll with them then hey.

RG3 never once said anything about being a republican

Anyways...that Raiders 1st team defense last night :wow: Goodness.

Perception is reality. There was a whole ESPN media mess behind RG3s political background. He knows the temperature in chocolate city. He won't nor has to come out and say anything an because of that the people will continue to feel how they feel. Right or wrong. Being unusually close with a known Republican owner who continues to fight for a racist team name doesn't help the perception.

It's just that...perception, which in turn, becomes an ASSUMPTION. None of us know his political allegiance, so all the speculation leads to nothing but hot takes.

Folks in here are doing exactly what the local media is doing and what Lake Lewis spoke out against. And that's piling on the guy for everything NOT having to do with his play. His wife...his assumed political ties...hairstyle...etc.

Also, regardless of franchise what "star" player hasn't been close with the owner?

*edit*

Thought of a comparison...what about Stephen Strasburg?

I've never heard of a rookie starting QB having Thankgiving dinner with the owner. Part of the reason the players don't back him. Everyone wants to move on from him. Reports are out today Dan is holding on. It's odd. I don't remember Jason Cambell being invited to dinner with Dan or any reports of them being close.

The ESPN incident I was referring to was Rob Paker calling him Uncle Tom on First Take.

Aside from players who have committed actual crimes, I have never seen anything like the way the public turned on RG3.

I believe the term he used was "cornball brother"

Goes all the way back to Lavar Arrington being buddy-buddy w/ Snyder.

Also, even w/ RG3 fizzling out, you can't compare him to Campbell. In addition, during Campbell's years, Portis was Snyder's dude.

& just so it's out there:

The team’s recent history and more immediate circumstances have created the impression that dysfunction in D.C. has reached full boil. While the franchise is hardly displaying a high degree of competence on a consistent basis, the situation isn’t quite as bad as it’s currently being portrayed.

Multiple sources tell PFT that, contrary to a Sunday afternoon report from ESPN, no schism exists between owner Daniel Snyder and the people he has hired to run the football operations regarding the status of quarterback Robert Griffin III.

ESPN claims that the coaching staff and front-official officials want to move on from Griffin, but that they are “meeting resistance” from owner Daniel Snyder. Three different sources have told PFT that this simply isn’t true. (One source called it “spaghetti journalism,” with reports being thrown against the wall at a time when a situation that seems to be disintegrating cries out for more and more efforts to advance the story.)

Which would make sense, because Scot McCloughan said that he would have never taken the GM job if he didn't have final say over the roster.

I hope the reports are false and Dan is letting his Football people do what they do. I'm ready to move on from the RG3 drama.

The Skins will continue to be a blackhole until Snyder sells the team to a competent, hands-off owner.

No one wants to trade for him. He has that stupid injury thing in his contract. If he gets hurt this year, he's owed 16 mil next year.

Movie looks good..

That African accent :pimp:

Glad to see the Dr got to remain African in the movie..

That's a story for another thread tho..
