Yeah Dan Marino was so cerebral with that 15 Wonderlic

I should find that Sportscentury where the reporter was asking him about how he beat defenses and Marino gave him some meathead answer about his arm

Some people look at a game on TV and say oh they rushing 3 or 4 guys and think.."oh they are playing a simple scheme" Not realizing there's 5-7 guys you cant see

Like there's no combo coverages, read coverages, brackets, rat coverages, coverages based on sets, peels, green dogs, blitzing to sets

They weren't doing that in 1984, there was no need to. Teams just lined mostly in 21 personnel and wanted establish the run

The game evolved with more passing offenses, so defenses had to get more complex

Never used the inferior..those arent my words

I just said the defenses are exponentially more complex than the 1980s, so are offensive schemes

[COLOR=#red]so you're saying the defense in the 80s and 70's are inferior then guy.

You could also murder a quarterback back then.

And grab and hold receivers as much as you wanted.

And guys like Lawrence Taylor and Ronnie Lott and Mike Singeltary were allowed to destroy anything, and everything they touched.

And if you went over the middle, you could get decapitated.

So "comnplex" and "tricky" is all code word now for soft, flag football style of play in which some QB's don't even need to shower after games, and receivers can run thru the middle of the field with ease.

But hey, stay on with the 80's defense was plain and simple narrative, I like it.

Yeah, we're done here.

[COLOR=#red]They way you are using complex in comparison to defenses in the 70's and 80's to today's defenses...
Yes... they are.
Especially when saying that they are " exponentially more complex "...
You're saying it's of lesser quality, design, coverages, coaching, and even players... which would mean... that defense in the 80's are in fact inferior to today's defenses. Tiger.
