Rice and Irvin played in the same era though.

Rice is better in every stat, accomplishment( both individual and team) and both played with HOFers and great talent.

Jerry Rice played for 20 years, in a pass oriented offenses. Roger Craigs was not getting 15+ rushing TDs per season.

The Cowboys were run heavy. Emmitt had like 2 seasons with 20+ rushing TDs. Irvin played in only 11 seasons. (Missed most of year 2 with an ACL injury). Jerry Rice only missed one full season due to injury, and he did break the TD record, in a strike shortened season. I'll give him that. Sterling Sharpe was arguably the best receiver in not only the NFC, but NFL, from 1989-1993. I'm a Cowboys fan BTW. We passed so infrequently, during the 90s era. People really don't understand. Cowboys were more 2010s Seahawks, on offense, than say, the Drew Brees Saints, or Colts. Irvin, Novacek, and Alvin Harper were the main 3 receivers.

Harper and Novacek averaged about 600-800 receiving yards per season.

Michael Irvin never had a 1,000 receiver opposite him, due to scheme...

Good post. More thourough then mine in regards to the offense Dallas ran. Unfortunately though your wasting your time champ. Games played and time missed doesn't matter in this argument. Change the topic and it's the deciding factor. Ha ha ha

I just got back into this post, after a few days absence. No Michael Irvin slander, yes biased.

John Taylor, JJ Stokes, Terrell Owens, Tim Brown all had 1,000 seasons with rice. Bye

6 out of 19 seasons, Jerry Rice had another player catch for 1000 yards on his team.

13 seasons he didn't.

Michael Irvin didn't even play for 13 seasons.

Working as an analyst on the NFL Network’s set inside the Superdome in New Orleans, former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin unequivocally disagreed with Moss.

“Randy’s done a wonderful job in the NFL. He’s done some wonderful things,” Irvin said. “Numbers do count and especially when they lead to victories. That’s why I think everybody has to capitulate when it comes to talking about greatest receiver. Bar none, nobody’s having a conversation. It is Jerry Rice, period.”

End of discussion. Thanks for playing.

why is this even a debate? Jerry Rice is the great WR we have or will ever see.

Played with 2 HOF QBs and a third that was maybe the best in the league at his peak in Gannon. A WR couldn't be blessed with better QBs. Mike had Troy and who when he was hurt, Jason Garrett? Laughable.

Did Rice make Montana and Young?

So he's suppose to be penalized for having 2 HOF QBs?
