They need to just pay the man whatever it takes. Got the few cheap, very successful years out of him and now it's $$$ time (ala Uggz). It's fun to joke about but there aren't many guys that fit that system better than Russ.

Letting him go and banking on either an unproven commodity, a rookie, or a retread is how teams end up sitting in NFL purgatory (7-9 to 9-7) for years.

Seattle got lucky in the draft and now it's time to open the checkbook.

Cap is going up every year considerably, contracts will too...I rather him get that than something even more astronomical down the line

Some of these fools act like Russell Wilson is supposed to take like 10 million because of his defense and Marshawn Lynch? If guys like Tanneyhill and Cam are getting around 20 million what do you expect Russell Wilson to make?

He'll probably earn over 22 million then Luck is going to smash Wilsons contract then Luck apologists can cry about him not having talent in the preceding years.

Yep, hence why he can ask for whatever he wants essentially. He's proven himself in that system
 
I think he is worth more in the 21 mil area but at the end of the day what Pablo said is true and we franchise him in 2 seasons and now he wants 28 mil
 
What's the deal with Rivers? Final year of his contract and not being traded? Or did he just want out and it wasn't related to a contract?

Not one of us said anything remotely close to 10 mil. Not one.

Not one of us is even barking about 25.

The entire point is the Seattle Org has paid EVERYONE in that franchise, but not Russ. :lol: :nerd:

The entire point is the Seahawks, themselves, are delaying the inevitable as long as they can. Why?

It could be interpreted as the Hawks know the true value of their overall roster and what truly drives their franchise, but the end result will end up Russ getting paid major money.

Baltimore won their Super Bowl, and paid Flacco a ton, and half that roster was gone months later. They're a really well run org, and certainly have still competed, but they come up short last year, quite possibly due to lack of extra talent they had the year before. (insert Chester "and the Patriots cheated" comment here)

This shouldn't be difficlut. Every other QB is getting paid rather easily, we all know that Luck is going to break the record for contract, why the delay with Russ? Is it the org? Is it Russ? Both? What's the hold up, for this super duper can't live without star that Hawk fans proclaim him to be?

Yeah all these other teams with QB's have drafted multiple elite players all within the same time span, so they have to worry about maintaining that elite core as well
