Eagles fans, how good was Boykins for you guys? He's currently getting no burn and Ross Cockrell (who was cut by the Bills) is out playing him.

I just want to know if he had any problems in Philly and why was he traded in the first place?

I really don't get the Clowney hate; y'all acting like he hyped himself up.

For basically a first year player coming off microfracture surgey I think he's looked pretty good. He needs to learn some moves besides the bull rush and the speed rush but he seems to have gotten better every game this year. Is he gonna be the next JJ Watt...probably not but if he continues to develop he could be really good.

I'm so confused by him and the entire situation.

And the only thing Tomlin is saying is "we're not playing him because we decided to play some one else"

Like what the hell is wrong with him? It's looking like the Lance Moore situation from last year except we didn't waste a draft pick on him.

So far, the Steelers have traded away their 5th and 6th round picks for guys who or either not on the team (Scobee) or they don't use (Boykin).

Brandon Boykin was solid his first two years, mainly playing the nickel corner position.  Didn't have as great of a year, last year.  He believed that he deserved more playing time, and deserved to be more than just a Nickel.  Chip didn't want him playing outside (The most brought up reason being his size). For this reason,  I think Chip knew that he wouldn't re-sign when his contract was up, so he decided to trade him while he could still get something for him.

Yo that Texans team is so funny to watch.

On one play you see a QB, leader of the team, take HIMSELF out the game, then be mad his backup outplays him.

Then on another play you see a guy basically get a concussion on field, then sneak back into the game before anyone can look at him.

All on primetime.

Then lose a game after their best offensive player blows their final drive on a bonehead penalty.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

If I knew they were this dysfunctional and hilarious to watch I would have gotten Sunday Ticket

Chill no one's "hating" on Clowney.

I recall Mario Williams being looked at in roughly the same light his first 16 games in the league.

The problem is a lot fans judge defensive lineman by sacks to and sacks don't tell the whole story.

Bingo. Unless someone is breaking down the film for each individual player, it's hard to know exactly how many runners they rerouted, hurries, pressures, if the offense brought extra blockers, etc. No fun "box score" stats for the DL outside of the typical TFL and sack unfortunately.

Well said.. Last week it was a nice long vid posted in here showing clowneys impact.

Pff shows he's cool(especially against the run ) and not as bad as NT is pretending.. Dude to me is basically playing out his rookie year. Still getting a feel for things. He will gain pass rushing moves thru having a full offseason.. He's yet to have one.

The gap between him and Mack isn't that great to me.. Which is funny considering the perception they both have.

Now Aaron Donald is miles ahead of them both, but he plays another position..

I think people are soured on clowney because they expected instant dominance.. Dude isn't that, but he's far from weak and will continue to grow.

Nobody is downing Clowney's ability, he just cant stay on the field.  He makes an impact but he's no game changer

He's good, but not first overall pick good.  Mind you he has two other all pros on the same defensive line

Not really, as he wasn't supposed to be taken with the first pick in the first place, and it was only figured out in like 2011 that out of Mario, Vince, and Reggie Bush that Mario actually was the best choice. He may have only been looked at under a microscope due to Vince and Reggie.

Oh Vince Young...man that guy fizzled out quick.

Kaepernick better watch out cuz if he don't get right he might be VY 2.0

Way too early to say that IMO...JJ Watt had 5 sacks his rookie year; he's arguably the best player in the league now. Not saying Clowney will be that but like somebody said earlier, he's doesn't even have a full season and off season under his belt to learn his craft. Few people come in the league and set the world on fire right away no matter how big and strong they are and who they're playing beside.

Micheal Bennett says offensive lines around the league are weak in today's game because the QB get paid to much. Can't keep lines together.

I don't see what Vince or Reggie have to do with what I'm saying.

People were griping about Mario Williams production and impact until well into his second season.

Clowney is effectively a quarter of the way through his first. He has time.

His rookie year ended with a knee injury after a few games. It is not uncommon to get injured playing football. I think he was playing with the same injury at SC? He started late in training camp. He's been in every game this year so far. It's a combination of having raw talent and trusting his body again which is super reasonable. Let him learn, he's hardly played 9 games in his career.

that tackle he had in the backfield on Gore :x :x

Forreal...my wife was like what's so special about that he basically just pulled him down. I was like he easily shed a tight end lined up over him trying to block him, took on a pulling, run blocking O lineman with one arm and pulled Gore down with the other.

Her: :\ ...mmmkay

 The kids got the physical tools...hopefully he can put it all together.

Do I really need to explain the difference especially for a casual fan?

You act like it takes a rocket scientist to figure out if a quarterback is playing bad or not?

It cant be that tough

He also has the ball in his hands every play and replays of every crucial throw.
