Wait and next week we'll be playing at Green Bay?

LOL.

Comedy, as if it couldn't get worse.

Now I'm really going to sleep...

So let's see, you all would rather him let Vick pass it in that situation? There's no reason to trust Vick at that point, AB wasn't doing a damn thing, and you have Le'Veon freaking Bell. You put the ball in your best playmaker's hand. I don't agree with that particular run, but the run call was a good call.
lol, who said anything about vick? I would rather kick the field goal and try to win it in OT. But hey i'm not an nfl coach and probably never will be. Congrats on tomlins play call and i'm happy we got the W

Play for OT after that **** show last week? Nah man. 1 yard line, best back in football. It's really a no brainer to me.

and agreed. the call was ballsy but not smart, man. if bell doesn't get in, he gets ROASTED on here by anyone saying it was a good call

Getting "roasted" here is hardly anything I'd be worried about when so much is on the line, so early in the season. Coaches get paid to make decisions, not armchair quarterbacks. Some coaches have balls, others don't.

you don't think he'd get criticized by all the analysts and talking heads? i said "here" just in reference to most of the people saying it was the right call. it worked so it looks great. but people would have a FIELD day. he got his share of grief for going for it with vick last week. this would have been even worse if that clock ran out because they ran with 5 seconds left.

if my team did it and lost because of it...i'd be livid. and even if it worked, i'd be happy but i wouldn't think it was the right call.

shades of "4th and 2" versus the colts back in 2009 (i think it was 2009)...but that was a little different. i got the logic there. here, not so much

but what's it matter? it worked.

Even if they didn't get the TD, the criticism wouldn't be as bad as what happened to the Seahawks last year at the SB

It was. That play was successful in the short yardage all night. SD saw the formation, called a TO and still wasn't able to stop it. There was a clear weakness that Pitt exploited and I would've felt just as confident as a coach as I did sitting here, that that play would work in that situation.
9x outta 10, that play ends with nothing. The smart thing to do would've been to kick the field goal and play in overtime.

If I were calling a run play in that situation, I'd have given the ball to Bell under center. QB sneak, anything but that. Bell barley crossed the goal line. If he would've extended his arms 1 second slower, everyone here would be calling it an absolutely dumb play.

at least Tomlin gave the ball to Pit's best player. Pete didn't put the game in the right man's hands :nerd:

 i kid, i kid

It's never a dumb play to run it close to the end zone. The Wildcat formation may have been questionable, but you have the best RB in the game and a suspect run D that you're up against. I take my chances. I would have gone with a QB sneak, but I'm glad I'm not the coach.

I think Tomlin would've been ridiculed worse, had he lost two overtime games in a row. Especially if he let a kicker get involved. Close games loss > Blow out loss. Tomlin would have been viewed as conservative, or, playing it to safe. You don't want that mindset.

Here being an extension of the ESPN fodder, because it always seems like they co-sign that media ***** **** in the end.

BB makes the call and you get the logic, but not here? C''mmoonnnn

i just said if BB made it, i wouldn't. i would not think it was smart.

4th and 2 was different. but even back then, i hated the call. DESPISED the actual play call. i called in to our local radio station and went on a 2 minute rant

9 out of 10 times?

Do I need to even add a sarcastic comment or does this here suffice?
