Fair point about the license and educational degree comment, that was an assumption and I apologize for it. On a side note it is amazing how surprised people are that those things are required to teach public schools

can't wear different helmets because the NFL says a new helmet isn't safe because it's not broken in

Weird, Phins throwback helmets have different decals, stripes, and gray facemasks. Going through all that trouble just to use the same helmets?

Yeah I think they'll use the same white shell with the throwback stripes, logo, and facemask. I imagine it'll be a huge headache for the equipment staff to make the switch for the whole roster

It's easy and hard at same time if that makes sense.

Or they'll all get new helmets for the game to avoid the hassle.  I don't think the NFL is monitoring equipment staffs like that.

Is it possible they just wore some white ones for practice and then they can use them in the game?

you don't think the NFL is monitoring a rule they just put in place?
The rule wasn't put in place because of the belief that broken-in helmets are more safer than new ones.  There is nothing stopping a player from playing in a new helmet every game. It was put in place because there players in the L that are currently playing in discontinued helmets.

The NFL is worried that if it forces these guys to play in helmets that are not of their own choosing because of uniform changes, and they get seriously hurt, they can sue.

Normally most of these guys don't play the season in just one helmet.  ES's have to keep multiple backups, especially for the guys play positions that experience heavy contact.

So no, I don't believe the NFL is monitoring if every helmet is properly broken-in before these guys wear them on the field.

Paul Lukas at uni-watch interview an equipment guy a few years ago about the subject.  I'll see if I kind it later.

I still don't fully understand how the helmet rule works/why it's in place...

Giants uniforms are almost nice but very generic.  Some small changes could make them much better.  The LT-era versions were WAY better, especially helmets.
