Rich Eisen gave the reasoning for Seau's daughter having a shorter speech on the Dan Patrick show earlier this week.

Speeches were getting WAY longer than the five minute allotments, so the league started cracking down. 4-5 years ago.

Long before Seau passed. Or concussion issues were a thing. Or lawsuits.

And then Tim Brown goes and gives a half hour speech.

The Hall of Fame should be ashamed.

CP is talking about the presenters' speeches and not the HOF inductees'.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame started having the presenters do video packages for their respective inductees a few years back instead of giving speeches because they often exceeded the minutes restriction they were allotted for them.  In fact some of them were sometimes longer than the inductee's speech.

Those presenters' speeches + the inductees' would have the HOF ceremony lasting 4+ hours easy which is a chore for pretty much anyone

Having them do video packages helps streamline the ceremony. In fact tonight's ceremony was one of the shortest in several years.
 
Which is Rich's point. His interview explained it all. Had to do with Staubach givin exactly five, and the next guy 25+ minutes. Staubach was pissed at Rich. :lol: :lol:

I believe it had something to do with posthumous speech givers as well. (Hence Staubach givin a speech in like 2010.

Man I got chills and water eyes when they introduced the bus. It's absolutely insane how they travel. Nobody travels like them except maybe the Pack.
