his daughter and hall of fame tight end are big domestic violence advocates too

I never knew the Witten story until I saw the feature on E:60.

Probably rustled his jimmies big time hearing Jerry Jones call Hardy a "leader." I mean, Witten is a captain....

right? you got Witten as one of the most respected players in the league and a lifelong Cowboy and you go and call Hardy a leader :smh:

"Let's hope Greg Hardy's not a leader in anything right now in this country"

Jerry doesn't give a ****, he's going to back his best players. Witten is a legitimately good guy and was a star at one point, but he's not elite in his position anymore like Dez and Hardy are right now

Trust me, I get it...

Reason why Hardy is on the roster and will probably get a multi-year deal at the end of the season is because he's elite at what he does.

Oh it makes sense why Witten is a big anti-DV guy.

Is that why some of y'all are such anti DV guys?

DV sucks and it ain't cool but there's a bunch of hyperbole towards it right now...I read a story saying Jose Reyes should get a lifetime ban.

And I'm like what?

It doesn't make sense to me when we have alleged rapists as stars of the NFL, NBA and NHL and most people don't think twice about it.

Rape is a far more heinous crime to me.

Well in North Carolina once you appeal, the bench trail doesn't mean **** so..... It's like it never happened and that's how the laws views it.

Yeah both are horrible acts but too me rape is infinitely worse.

What kind of logic is this? "Yeah DV sucks, but rape is worse." These are all deplorable actions and NONE of them should be condoned at all.

On the flip side Ray Rice has shown sorrow and seemingly tried to better himself after the whole incident. He won't get back in the league due to his age/position but good to see some contrition

my biggest issue with Hardy is he shows no remorse and doesn't seem to get it at all

I won't be surprised when it happens again

Does someone that something so heinous like that deserve a second chance though? I don't think so, personally.

True.

If he was like 26 when this happened he would be playing somewhere now. But being on the wrong side of 30 is no bueno for a RB as you said.

Do you think Ray would've shown the same type of sorrow if the video never came out?

Or

Do you think the video coming out, along with the public's response, and him losing his job forced him to better himself?

Does the fact that the incident involved his wife and not some random girlfriend play a factor in the type of remorse he's shown?

If I beat my wife's *** like that, there is no way in Hell she would give me a second chance. It's ludicrous. There isn't one guy in the NFL that isn't replaceable. If you want to act like an ***, its plug n play.

It's mind blowing that people actually come out of their mouths and say this crap, man. As if I'm supposed to look at a woman beater in a more favorable light than a rapist.

Has there been more emphasis placed on DV in the last year? Yes, but why is that such a bad thing? Is there truly a such thing as taking that topic too seriously? I get it, there's two sides to every story and all that, but the lengths some of you go through just to defend this piece of **** is amazing.

"Well at least he didn't rape a woman" is what that sounds like to me. What kind of **** is that?

he showed remorse months before the video even came out
