OFFICIAL NFL Discussion Thread: 2015-16 Season - Congrats to the Denver Broncos and their fans! SB 5

- It's a football thread talking about a football player that beat the **** out of his girl. It's up for discussion in here.

- Of course we could all do more. We could all volunteer and donate money and look into programs to help. Not sure why everything on NT has to be "fake outrage" now.

- I've had my ex try to fight me MULTIPLE times and is why I always look at the woman in the situation first. "Women will provoke you and get mad when it works"

You're just deflecting the argument. None of what you're saying excuses Greg Hardy's actions. Nice try though, you put in a good effort.

I'm not deflecting anything. I stated where I stood on Hardy last week. I'm changing the narrative.

I see the Hardy outrage. What do you do in your own damn communities? Simple question. Your deflecting from what I said because I'd guess the answer isn't a damn thing. You don't care unless a celebrity is involved.

You're deflecting by trying to put us on a guilt trip. I don't have to support a cause religiously to have an opinion. I don't do anything of the things you mentioned in your first post. You know what else I don't do? Beat women. This isn't fake outrage. People don't normally hear about DV abuses in their everyday lives, but if and when they do, their opinions on the matter ought not to be discarded because of the source of the discussion.

I'll be the first to admit I do none of those things. I'm against DV but I'm not a champion in the crusade. I have other issues that frankly I personally am more passionate about. So I devote my time there.

My point is some are speaking from such a high horse position against Hardy asking what you do in the battle against DV is legitimate. I don't claim to know 100% it was all him like some are convinced. I believe he's guilty but I'm not condemning his every word and move as some are. Peoples passion on this topic and matter of fact way they speak begs the question.

The funny part is, not too many people will be able to answer this. However, they will quickly accuse you of defending Greg when you're really asking legit questions

how is this legit?

you don't check the sex offense registry so it's fake outrage, you don't volunteer at women's shelters so you really don't care about DV

c'mon now, you called the girl soft last week

He said the only reason it's big deal is because it's an athlete, which is true. He then proposed a couple of questions that could've sparked an articulate conversation about what goes on locally when these type of cases happen but of course we can't have those on NT.

And I stand by what I said last week, did you think my opinion would change over the weekend because a bunch of NTers don't agree with my thoughts?

I think you hit the nail on the head....to have an opinion on something doesn't mean that it's fake outrage.

On top of it all...it's a HUGE story.

Why can't you be on a high-horse if you don't do those things? What Hardy did was deplorable. He's a awful person. Speaking out against him and what he did doesn't put that person on a high-horse, man.

You can't have an opinion that DV is wrong unless you can post a personal list about what you're doing to stop DV on a daily basis

Okay

But "idiots" was too harsh a personal term when used to describe some statements previously.

I feel like "fake outrage" has become a new buzzword. On some "Oh people are upset about something that I'm not or I don't really care for so it must be false outrage" type of steeze

checking the sex offender registry is deflecting

if I knew my neighbor beat his wife then we would cease conversation, I don't see how any of what he said is relevant to Greg Hardy

I don't find DV soft because they aren't out there with megaphones condemning the actions that go along with DV

Cowboys defense regressed
and they lost Demarco
if they had kept demarco they would be in a totally different position right now

Hate all ya want but Dallas was definitely a SB contender in the NFC before the injuries.
Best team in the NFC East, absolutely.  SB Contender?

Defense still too suspect.

Defense has had it's lapses but for the most part they've kept us in most of these games without Romo so I think things would've have been slightly better if everyone was healthy.

There's no clear cut favorite in the NFC right now, which is why I said Dallas was in the mix to challenge for a spot in the SB.

The term is a bit nonsensical when you think about it

People are asking for his job. After the case is already over. I've asked repeatedly what do they expect him to do. Is working at McDonald's more suitable? Should he never be allowed to work again anywhere? Everyone wants him fired. Ok then what?

How do you determine where a person is eligible to work or how much he's allowed to make based off his crime?

I'd say Carolina looks like a clear cut favorite right about now. They've gained some distance away from Arizona and Green Bay
