Gates old *** has 3 million miles on his body, is playing through 8 injuries and has no offensive line, no defense getting him constant opportunities, and no running game, I repeat ZERO running game, which allows the secondary to back out of the box and focus on covering him...

AND HES STILL AMONG THE ELITE TIGHT ENDS IN THE LEAGUE. At age 50. Still playing better than every tight end in the league outside of 5 young cats.

And y'all wanna argue he ain't GOAT [emoji]128016[/emoji]

He is the king of excuses.

I just want to see him achieve Alex Smith level.  I believe that is his absolutely peak ceiling though he's yet to ever get there.  He's pretty darn mediocre and is YPA is terrible, which is a great sign of that.
I pray we don't sign him..

I'd rather get a rookie QB in the 1st round this year or hopefully next year, then we would have him locked into a rookie deal for cheap for 5 years.. hopefully we can get that person this year, and allow them to go through the growing pains in their first season or two.. with substantially higher ceiling hopefully for that 2nd-3rd season

with Bradford I think we're locking ourselves into that middle ground territory.. he can be solid enough to win games.. but not good enough to lead you through the playoffs

personally, I'd rather suck for a year or two with the potential to be great once patience is applied and things are given time to grow.. then to accept mediocrity (which is what I think we would be doing)

even with everything that happened this past year, the eagles still won 7 games.. and with a healthy kicker to start the year we would have won 9-10 games.. but in the grand scheme would that really have been the best thing for the team

You're right, let's talk about the Dolphins. People care about them.

Antonio Gates has two 1000 yard seasons and 4 double-digit touchdown seasons in his career.
Rob Gronkowski has three 1000 yard seasons and 5 double-digit touchdown seasons in his career.

One is 26 years old while the other is 35.

I always thought and assumed that Gates put up his numbers as like the #2/3 option behind/tied with whoever was the #1 WR and LT...but good Lord at his target numbers for his peak years.

If Gates went to Oregon you'd be making a case for him.

Ed Dickson did and you don't see me calling him the GOAT doe.

completely convinced drug companies don't want to fully cure cancer

Not so sure about that as it pertains to the cigarette companies. The health risk keeps people away. If a person could smoke without the risk more people would buy the product. What they don't want is the money to stop rolling in. That's the motivation for most messes on Earth.
