Russ is that guy that everybody loves coming into the league, but once his team becomes champion everyone can't stand.

Who loved him coming into the league? He was pretty much a unknown when he got drafted. I don't even remember people talking about him till the Fail Mary play. I don't anybody "turned" on Russell. After he won people started overrating him acting like he doesn't have a great defense and great RB. He plays the most important position and he makes plays here and there but he's not close to the best player on that team. Cam, Earl, Sherman, Lynch.

A lot of football fans liked Russell Wilson, coming out of college. He suffered the Drew Brees fate. Guy was the goods at NC State and Wisconsin. But being that he was 5'11" one-track-minded "experts" tried to write him off when he clearly was good enough to play in the league. Vick and Manziel both went in the first round, and were 6' and 5'11" respectively but hype put Manziel in round one. Vick had a cannon arm and phyisically could make every throw but, relied too much on scrambling. Manziel is just average all across the board.

Brees and Russell are both pure passers, always look to make a play with their arms but, teams always want excitement, which bites them in the backside when you simply need a passer who can throw every pass, stay healthy, and not make huge mental blunders.

People love em cause he's sorta the underdog and everybody loves an underdog.. Dudes a 5'11 QB from the 3rd round who nobody really expected much out of, let alone be the face of the franchise. Also he has an all around clean image and nice guy demeanor.. Add that in with the fact that he got drafted during the rise of LOB and Seattles defense and him being a great sidekick to marshawn and Russ = Gawd.. In reality though more of the praise should go towards Pete and front office for turning Seattle into a powerhouse in such a short time

People were rooting for him cuz he was the underdog but nobody was saying "this kid will be great" and then changed after won a ring.

See it however you'd like to see it

Its different dynamics. Running on the 1yd with best NFL running back/quarterback run combo or throwing to relatively weak receivers?

I forgot its all on Russell Wilson cant trust him,

Y'all cant seriously believe that nonsense

if dude can say Russell Wilson is underrated by 21 spots at #22...yes I can say the nonsense I just said. that was the point. trolling a troll with trolling

Ya'll getting butthurt over lists, heh.

I just need Seattle to pay this dude and move on

I did. I liked him going back to NC State and thought he was a real special Q. Especially so after how great he handled the transitoon to Wisconsin. I'm sure there's a few posts about that can be dug up, but I digress. I see your point though. NT may have distorted the real life perspective too, because as was mentioned, posters didn't like the "fanboys."

Same here. Remember people worrying about his size. Guy played behind a GIGANTIC Wisconsin o-line and tore it up. Wasn't he the most accurate QB that year, too? Knew he was a special player, and the Gruden QB camp with him was awesome.

Would love to see Seattle and Russell split. Seattle continues to win 11-12 games a year with a bum QB and Russell goes to a mediocre team and gets his **** kicked in.

For sure. I went on and on about that here. Playing behind that O-line, how his release was over the top, how they can shift the pocket to give him throwing lanes...his football and overall intelligence sealed it for me.

To think about how bad the Browns wet the bed in the 2012 draft :x
Trent Richardson
Brandon Weeden

Speaking of what is up with Atl? They going to make a comeback or are the basement dwellers for a while? I maybe see them play once a year

From the underrated list: Love Telvin and Harrison Smith. Glad to see both of them getting props. Kelvin Beachum is hella underrated as a LT. K.J. Wright is :pimp: Delanie getting that shine in Tennessee. MM8 gonna love having him as a security blanket.

From the overrated list: Hurts to see Fitz there but it's true. Percy probably is the most overrated player in the league. Don't agree with AJ Green being overrated at all. T.J. Ward? FOH. VD is donezo. Can't call Maxwell overrated yet.
