Former Washington QB Doesn’t Believe Robert Griffin Will Succeed in the NFL

Former Washington ******** quarterback Mark Brunell supported Robert Griffin III in the past, but the ESPN NFL analyst’s opinion has taken a turn in the opposite direction.

Appearing on ESPN on Monday, Brunell, who played for three seasons in Washington, down-talked RGIII. According to Scott Allen of The Washington Post, Brunell responded to a question asking if he thought Griffin will succeed in the league and said:

“I do not. From what I’ve seen the last couple of years — listen, he burst onto the scene and that was impressive — but like I said, he has gone backwards. It’s not just his decision-making, it’s his fundamentals. He’s taking too many hits, he’s quick to get out of the pocket. Last year was difficult to watch. Does he have the skill set? Yes, but we haven’t seen it in some time.”

Brunell is jumping aboard the bandwagon of other professionals who have lost faith in Griffin.

As a rookie in 2012, RGIII helped the team accomplish nine wins and a playoff appearance. Griffin totaled 3,200 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and only five interceptions that year.

Since then, however, he’s been burdened with injuries, and his production declined severely. RGIII posted a 5-15 record from 2013-2014.

Nevertheless, Griffin still appears to have the support of his current coach Jay Gruden and Washington management. The team exercised his fifth-year option for 2016, which at least represents a show of faith on their side.

The reality is that RGIII must improve if he wants a long-term career as a starting quarterback in the NFL. For his sake, let’s hope he can prove all the naysayers wrong, so we can finally focus on a different storyline in Washington.

The majority of people have given up on RG3, every thing Burnell said is true

He's needs a fresh start somewhere else if he's going to succeed

Obama Administration to Force ******** Name Change Before Move to D.C.

The Obama Administration is not going to accommodate a move of the Washington ******** from Landover, Maryland to the District of Columbia unless the team agrees to change its controversial name.

A report from the Washington Post suggests that Interior Secretary Sally Jewell told D.C. political leaders, including Mayor Muriel Bowser, that the National Park Service will not agree to help the ******** in construction of a new stadium in the nation’s capital unless they change their name.

From the report:

“Efforts to lure the Washington ******** back to the District have come up against a potentially insurmountable challenge: the Obama Administration’s objections to the team’s name.”

The Post goes on to indicate that the National Park Service owns the land under where old Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium stood—a location that both the ******** and local leaders have eyed for construction of a new stadium.

It’s not a surprise that the ******** are jockeying to build a new state of the art stadium. What is a surprise is that the current administration, even at its lowest levels, would get involved here.

It’s rather simple.

If the National Park Service doesn’t have a change of heart, and there is no reason to believe it would, Washington will have to change its name in order to build a new stadium at its old location.

The interior secretary had this to say about the ********’ name back in September of 2014 (via ABC News):

“Personally, I think we would never consider naming a team the ‘Blackskins’ or the ‘Brownskins’ or the ‘Whiteskins.’ So, personally, I find it surprising that in this day and age, the name is not different.”

With land limited in the D.C. area, the location of old RFK Stadium remains the team’s best chance to return to the nation’s capital. That’s now being challenged in a big way by the feds.

Dez Bryant, Cowboys reportedly on verge of contract extension

July 2, 2015
by Steve DelVecchio

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has no intention of playing the 2015 season under a one-year contract, and he may not have to.

According to a report from Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, the Cowboys are “very optimistic” that a long-term extension between Bryant and the team is imminent. Fisher adds that the two sides are so comfortable with the way recent talks have gone that they have agreed to take a break for the holiday weekend, and a new deal could be announced as early as next week.

Bryant has until July 15th to either sign the franchise tender, which is worth $12.823 million for the upcoming season, or work out a long-term deal with the team. Recent reports have indicated that Bryant is willing to miss regular season games if the latter can’t be accomplished.

While Dez has made it very obvious that he is unhappy with his contract situation by sending tweets like this, he has not completely alienated the team. Bryant has even shown up to some organized training activities.

All of those rumors about a Bryant video that would make him look worse than Ray Rice seem to have fizzled out. Assuming there are no major off-field issues to worry about, you’d have to think the Cowboys will make Bryant a priority. At age 26, he’s already one of the top two or three wide receivers in football. Talent like that doesn’t come along very often.

Indeed, don't let teams take your identify away.

Enjoy your life as much as you can.

Kinda surprised they had Julio over Dez and It's interesting hearing the players talk about Peterson compared to Sherman. Everybody kept bringing up that Peterson moves around, he checks everybody and Sherman stays on one side.

Good looks.  I can't believe they're even asking for a new stadium after 15 years.

That's just about the only positive thing you can say about Peterson at this point in his career.

Like sure, he doesn't actually check anyone well.  But he does move around more than Sherman and Revis.

I think the Peterson slander is a little much, dude was playing with diabetes during the season, when that isn't under control and undiagnosed it can really mess with you.

While I like the Prez's intentions, I think a professional team should change on their own

Now state funded schools, all should be changed

Was never sold on RG3, don't think a change of scenery would help either. Maybe for a few games but he'll get exposed IMO.

I'd like to see what chip could do with him.. or get him in a WCO

but a lot is going to need to change with him personally from what has been said through the media.. but then again he wont get empowered from a new team like he did from Snyder

the Rodgers experience would have been great for him

RG3 will never be good if he doesn't learn to stop getting crushed by defenders, he needs to watch how Russell plays and try to change his style

^ dude does take some hits.. obviously it's big guys hitting him.. but when guys hit him it really looks like it hurts
