If the likes of Bruce Gradkowski and Dan Orlovsky are still in the league collecting checks then there's no reason Vick shouldn't be as well imo

what does Randle need to be? that entire offense worked because of Murray last year, I think that is what Cowboys fans fail to realize

it's not a coincidence Romo had his best year in the NFL

Entire offense worked and the defense especially benefited from that ground and pound. No denying that,

Where that put us now is the ole egg vs the chicken argument.

Was the o-line or Murray the main reason the eunning game was so dominant?

Personally I think it was the line, but Murray complimented them beautifully and I wanted him back.

With all that said I still see this offense being one of the top rushing teams again this year. That o-line is just too good man, and doesnt require a blue chip rusher to take advantage of it. There will be an abundance of opportunity imo.

Vick is 35 year old QB who looked done last year. I don't thinks him "being white" would get him a shot at starting somewhere.
.

Honestly the fact he is old and not very good is the best argument against. With Ben, the circus and questionable character are bearable due to him being a great QB. With Vick, what's the point of bringing in a distraction to the team when he probably won't see the field. I've yet to see someone use that argument point but I think it's the most logical

And Bruce Gradkowski slander will not be tolerated. MAC QBs >

Romo had his best year because he had time to move the ball, that's more on our OL than Murray. Murray helped with the blitz pick ups but who's to say that can't be replaced?

We don't need Randle to run for 1,800 yards in order to be successful. As long as we get production from all 3 RBs we'll be fine.

There are a few players involved in our offense that are ready to take the next step which will help mask the loss of Murray.

fair enough, I obviously hope it's more Murray as you guys hope Bradford sucks

only way to find out is to get this season started

I think Tomlin being a fan of Vick has something to do with it. There were talks of the Steelers grabbing Vick when he got out of jail, but at that point you really couldn't justify bringing him in because there was Ben and Batch was still a decent backup.

Nobody is expecting him to take the field unless Ben is injured, and even then there's enough talent on offense to supplement what he lacks. I'm not saying he's gonna rip it up, but I think he'll be a good game manager.

.. COME AND SEE HOW SOFT RYAN MALLET IS."

Quarterback Ryan Mallett misses Texans practice

Posted on August 27, 2015 | By John McClain

Quarterback Ryan Mallett wasn’t at the Texans’ practice Thursday.

“That’s between Ryan and I,” coach Bill O’Brien said.

Mallett lost the starting job to Brian Hoyer this week. Mallett said the day after that he was disappointed and disagreed with the decision but would continue to work hard and be ready to play. He was at practice on Wednesday but not Thursday.

“That’s a personal issue with him,” O’Brien said.

Asked if Mallett would be back at practice Friday, O’Brien said, “I would think so.”

O’Brien said Monday all the quarterbacks would play at New Orleans. He said Thursday he still plans to play all three quarterbacks at the Saints.

“Tom (Savage) got a lot of reps today, which is good for him,” O’Brien said. “Brian will get the bulk of the reps.”

I think this had more to do with the fact that Romo wasn't asked to put the team on his broken back as he's been asked to do since 2007. Despite the season he had last year, he's had multiple seasons that rival it. In 2011 he had 31 TDs and 10 INTS and only Aaron Rodgers Drew Bree's and Tom Brady had higher quarterback ratings. Same thing in 2013, 31 TDs 10 INTS and a Qb rating that was 6th best in the NFL.

A running game is a QBs best friend but Romo has put up numbers that rivals the elites without it in the past.

is Vick the back up or 3rd string?

No official word yet. See how he does, Landry Jones has done little to secure the second string

Get out of here w/ that PR response  there's really no doubt that he's the backup. I honestly would like to see him under center in a game. The Steelers aren't the Jets, even w/ injuries they still have a solid OL. They do what they do best and give Ben time and Ben knows how to extend if need be; I'm certain Vick could do the same.

Do yall have a preference for NFL broadcasts? NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC/ESPN

For some reason I dislike CBS NFL broadcasts.

I prefer CBS. Better broadcasters and I'd watch wherever James Brown is for pregame. He left Fox and it wasn't the same. Joe Buck annoys me and their broadcasters/color commentators don't cut it. I like Michaels and Collinsworth, but other than that, the presentation is bleh and soapbox Costas is damn near getting to a Buck level for me. CBS is just a better presentation and most all their broadcasters are very good. Harlan, Nantz, Gumble, Eagle > than everything on the FOX side. Tirico on ESPN is trash too.
