It's supposed to be a ranking of the top 100 players of THIS year. Emmanuel Sanders was by far one of the best receivers in the entire league with over 1,400 yards and 9 TD's but IMO he was one of the top overall players I watched in the entire league last year regardless of position. Some of the names that are ahead of him by 40-50 spots are ridiculous.

For the record, the list isn't necessarily the players voting the top 100 players as it's advertised. A lot of players don't even vote at all and the process in which it's based on is considered to be flawed by most major media outlets.

It's actually supposed to be for the coming season, so predictive

I agree but you'll hear certain people attempt to reinforce the validity of the list by saying "Voted on by their peers" as it's advertised when only like 20 percent of the players vote.

Two things that did it for me were Matt Ryan having a 29 TD season and getting to the playoffs and not even making the list but Tim Tebow does.

The year Peyton Manning is on the list despite missing the entire season.

Zack Martin, despite being a rookie and being All Pro this year, doesn't make the list? So he's not a top 100 player?

And I guess that was 3 :lol:

And if it's supposed to be "predictive" for the next NFL season then they really think AP will only be the 64th or whatever best player?

Oh, and Luck behind Demarco Murray.

List is just all kinds of bad.
 
I don't think anyone takes these lists seriously, just reason to create chatter before training camp

If I really thought Murray was #4 I would be ecstatic

Sorry I was referencing the 2011 list. Should have mentioned that. But Tebow was voted on the list at 95. Matt Ryan didn't make the list despite throwing 29 TDs that year.
 
So what's up with the Giants and this franchise tag? I'm hearing different things. i know he didn't sign it but was it even offered? I heard that if it's been offered, Giants can't pull it. Does anyone know?

It is.  Hence it being for 2015, etc.  Doesn't mean it makes sense, but that's what it's supposed to be.

I mean DeMarco sure as hell shouldn't be in the top 10 if it's predictive.
