So what's up with the Giants and this franchise tag? I'm hearing different things. i know he didn't sign it but was it even offered? I heard that if it's been offered, Giants can't pull it. Does anyone know?
Supposedly if he signs he can get put on a "non-football injury" list which will allow them to get out of paying him, which is why he hasn't done it yet.  I thought they could withdraw it but if they haven't yet...

Matt Ryan was #52

That's for the top 100 of 2011 which is based off the 2010 year. The top 100 list of 2012 which is based off the 2011 year is the one I was referring to, hence how Tim Tebow was able to be on the list at 95. I should have been more clear; my apologies.

I seem to do that a lot when it comes to the super bowl (i.e. Super bowl in 95 but referring to the 94 season)

Giants can withdraw the franchise tag but it really makes no sense since they already have that 14 mill allocated specifically for him and unless they just wanna be cheap bastards they might as well keep it there. There aren't any other free agents left that they could sign to use that cap space. JPP probably didn't allow the team to meet with him per his agent as this is business regardless of how other people feel.

The franchise tag sucks and players don't like it. So they are going to use whatever little leverage they may have. JPP maybe hopes the Giants withdraw the tag, making him an unrestricted free agent free to sign anywhere. Kinda like when ***** *** Jay Ratliff was allegedly injured to the point where he couldn't run; Cowboys release him; in two days he signs with the Bears

The top 100 of 2011 is based on the upcoming 2011 season, the top 100 of 2012 is based on the upcoming 2012 season.  That's how the NFL network frames the list.

I know. Stillin was quoting me to correct me of Matt Ryan making the list when I was indicating he didn't. The list I was referring to was the 2012 list not the 2011 which didn't have Tebow at all.

i like how people care so much about lists.

I trust a players list over any media list

The only thing that could make the list better is some input from coaches

No matter what you think about players, even the most non studying player is still watching at least 10 hours a game film per game, studying it at a depth thats impossible when watching on TV

Always liked James Harrison, just another reason...

@jharrison9292

@AdamSchefter You're a real piece of sh*t for putting that picture up!

Funny, Tiki Barber said the opposite today. Most guys just vote on names they recognize, favorite players, or their friends.

Strange I don't know how Tiki would have experience with this list considering he retired in 2006

Maybe Ronde told him

I would trust a player's vote over the media too - but not by much. They are almost as biased and we've seen it a ton of times. A lot vote for their bros and teammates and ESPN darlings.

Of course all lists are silly.

Worst is Peter King's "100 most influential in NFL" in which he includes media personalities (like himself).

JH does not give an F

His interview while holding guns about Roger still makes me chuckle from years ago
