I think y'all are speaking on this as fans, I'm speaking on this an observer

The last 4 years with Dez, the Cowboys have averaged to a 9-7 team. Dez Bryant has probably been a top 3 receiver during that time and it hasn't really meant much towards being a championship level team. Some people say having great receivers aren't the crucial factor in winning championships...I don't know

My point wasn't even that, My point was that in the NFL pretty much all players are replaceable within a couple of seasons even quarterbacks but they are the hardest to replace

I cant think of many cases where an NFL franchise has lost a player and have been screwed to multiple horrible seasons in a row

Great organizations seem to find eventual replacements. If the Cowboys are a great organization they can find suitable replacements within a couple of seasons.

Nah I'm speaking as an observer as well fam.

Dez grew up this season and became the team leader, you seem to only be focusing on the production standpoint. We haven't had a legit/respected leader in YEARS, that's something that isn't easily replaceable in Dallas.

Cowboys are playing this perfectly.

I love Dez but his tantrum is hallow. He holds zero leverage. The Cowboys of old would have already paid him 110 mil 60 guaranteed. Remember all the bad contracts? Marion Barber? Miles Austin? Roy E Williams? The Cowboys finally smartened up after all these years and I can't say that I'm not pleased. Dez got a problem with the tag? Take it up with your Union. I get he wants to be paid but the Cowboys have to think about their future. We need to keep Frederick, Martin Tyron. Those are where the games are won. Megatron-like contracts are ridiculous and can cripple a franchise. If there was no salary cap, Dez and DMo would have been paid the day after the GB loss.

Ultimately, Dez will cave in and sign the 30-35 million guaranteed offer the Cowboys present to him while his agent is going to be fuming because they want CJ money and that **** was an anomaly.

and i'm a dez fan, fwiw

Dez should play and take a chance, that man will break the bank next year assuming he's not franchised again

 When it comes down to it Dez WILL NOT hold out for long, he will be turing down around 750k per game. No sane man could do that...

what'd the Broncos & Cowboys do? :nerd:

i'm out of the NFL loop

They're saying they got on the phone to discuss the contract situations of DT and Dez both of whom got tagged

That type of contact is prohibited because they could in theory cap their earning potential.

They're gonna get similar contracts and either one of them could set the new ceiling for elite WR money so by colluding and driving down their numbers, so to speak, they could save each other some bread

Hmmm
Demaryius Thomas - WR - Broncos

Mike Klis of 9News.com in Denver reports the Broncos have recently offered unsigned franchise player Demaryius Thomas a long-term contract that would make him the league's second-highest paid receiver.

Per Klis, who has covered the Broncos for a long time, the two sides have exchanged contract offers with less than 48 hours until Wednesday's deadline. Thomas is said to be seeking Calvin Johnson money and beyond at $16 million-plus annually with around $50 million guaranteed. The Broncos' offer, however, would put Thomas ahead of Mike Wallace's $12 million per-year rate and behind Megatron. Thomas may have to decide if he wants the security or play hardball for the money he feels he deserves and take another shot at it next offseason after playing on the tag.

With a contract deadline now down to less than 48 hours, the Broncos and Thomas' agent, Todd France, have recently exchanged proposals, according to multiple NFL sources.

The Broncos' offer is substantially more than the contract of Minnesota's Mike Wallace, who is currently the league's second-highest paid receiver with a deal that averages $12 million a year.

The highest-paid receiver is Detroit's Calvin Johnson, who is making better than $16.2 million a year. Contrary to reports, Thomas is not seeking Calvin Johnson money. Thomas is seeking a deal that would exceed Johnson's contract, according to sources

This dude DT is more delusional than Vernon Littlefield if he thinks he's getting a bigger deal than Megatron
