"Hey ya know that Ellington guy that starts for us? Let's sign the older, completely washed up version of him to back him up."

Depends on if Rice's last season was an aberration or sign of decline.  Most RBs don't get good again after they get bad.

I like fantasy football podcasts for not other reason than entertainment.
Can only get so much NFL substance from so many people.
Rich Eisen and DDFP > with interviews and substance imo.

I feel like Rice's decline is physical and Johnson's is very mental. There's no reason Johnson shouldn't still be a top back. He hardly ever got injured, and barely took hits. Hell, he did more falling to the ground to avoid contact since 12/13, he should be fresh

Fair. I think Eli balls out this year. Best WR corp he's had in a while, maybe his best ever. He's been lacking weapons. Cruz is back. James Jones is great pick up for a #3 and I think Donnell takes a step forward. Although I'm not sure what kind of shape their O-Line is in. Think it's been rough in recent memory.
I do zero research. No one actually knows anything. I go with my gut on sleepers. Last year mine was Emmanuel Sanders and I hit along with Benjamin. This year it's Deandre Hopkins. I hope Hard Knocks doesn't ruin that with him getting more exposure than usual.

LOL.

I dont know why the Cowboys wouldnt sign him

Dude would rush for 1000 I dont count his time in NY with all of Rex's jawing of and the Jets constantly being knocked around CJ had no shot to eat word to Geno

As erratic as Eli has been you'd think 2 rings would be good leverage to get paid more than someone like Rivers. But Eli should know Rodgers money is unreasonable and I don't think the Giants FO would budge on a count of it being common sense.
Cap is going up though.  That's the biggest reason for escalating contracts, though Rodgers' contract was huge when he signed it and is still huge.

Contracts are escalating because all it takes is one guy to reset the market not because the NFL is about to hit a financial windfall like the NBA did.

Alrighty, I guess this is the part where I ask why the LOL. Being wrong is always possible but the LOL seems a little extreme.

yeah idk what's so funny about Eli having a great year

i'm thinking the same, Jay

Eli should do a lot better than last year simply given the talent and health added back in around him. don't sleep on Shane Vareen too...nice little safety valve for that goober Eli. not sure how the offensive line is looking, though.

I agree about Eli and I think JPZ is either laughing at the humblebrag at the end there or because he has a boatload of quotes from Jay in the past where his "gut" was wrong.

Well two separate thoughts were combined into one big ol' LOL so I'd assume it applies to my thoughts on the Giants as well.

I guess that was a little humblebrag. But hey, it worked out without the need of a fantasy expert fortune teller. That's what I tried to get at.

I don't think I make predictions with my gut left and right but if I did and am literally always wrong, well shut I'm no fortune teller. Lol to finally hitting the nail on the head with mah boy Emmanuel.

Oh, hey...I ain't calling you out, brotha. We have all humblebragged a time or two on here. I'm all about those instincts too though. :nthat:

P.S. - Go Vikings!

The Eli asking for Rodgers money argument is interesting

Flacco got paid after he won his and Eli has 2

Eli isn't as good as Rodgers but the rings is all that matters at the end of the day

With how bad QB's are now the Giants will probably keep Eli

How much they will pay him is the question

Eli had a real good season last year. He likes the new system and it seems to be a good fit for him. O line is horrible.

I don't know if he expects to actually get paid that much or if it's just for negotiating his deal. He deserves something like Phil got. He doesn't deserve an Aaron deal at all. Giants won't let him walk.
