They should pay the NFL . These things are just recruiting tactics anyway. Who is getting paid more than the U.S. military ?

You're trolling dude.

Wanna know something? My brother served in Afghanistan and his healthcare service was cut off YEARS early because the US government had major spending cuts. He wasn't paid thousands of dollars for his service and was forced to declare bankrupcy because of a surgery he had to have two months after he left. So yeah, a **** pile of people are getting paid more than the US military.

Because I'm not a billion dollar business dumb ***.

I'm also not out here wearing a Still jersey and parading her illness around for my benefit.

Your now #2 on my list only behind JJ.

>:

Get your weight up then. It's not the NFL's fault that youre not a billion dollar business.

Basically. How can you critique an organization for only donating 10% of their (million dollar) revenue, when you're donating far less?

Sound reasoning. They are above criticism due to sheer size

I guarantee if I sell a charitable time, I'll be donating more than 10%. Thats how I can criticize

Average person makes let's say 50 grand a year. NFL makes billions. But the average person can't criticize the NFL because he donates less than the NFL (although on a percentage basis is likely to donate more). NT logic at its finest.

No business is missing out on revenue for a charity  Obviously.

If you aren't donating more to cancer research than the NFL is, you have no right to criticize them. 11% of the pink products probably equals somewhere in the millions.

i guess we have no right to say Geno Smith sucks eggs cause none of us are in the NFL

slander proof Geno :pimp:

So dudes are mad that NFL teams are charging the military to put on their aerial shows above their stadiums? If the military didnt think it was worth it, then they wouldnt partake. The military, much like every other organization in this country, is OUT TO MAKE MONEY. If a little bit of good can come from that, then so be it.

I've always thought this about Devon Still.....

I like him because he is a PSU alum but to be quite honest he was gonna be cut from the Bengals.

I hope this isn't the case but I feel like he does use Leah to stay in the NFL; I hate saying my true feelings but those are my true feelings. I have no doubt he loves his daughter to the max but still; nobody is perfect. I think the more it goes on, the more I come to this realization.

Your are welcome to criticize the NFL as much as you'd like. The NFL is also welcome to donate whatever percentage they think is appropriate.

Keep bashing an organization that donates MILLIONS to cancer research :rolleyes Whatever makes you guys feel better.

I prefer to donate to the Jimmy V Foundation but in the end, they all probably have ways to pocket their wallets

Are we bashing or questioning the intentions and % donated by certain companies to charity? I think it's a very healthy discussion topic

Even if he's using her it's to her benefit. Better medical and a salary that allows him to provide for her. I'm cool with it

Very healthy. But lets not gang up one the one dude who has a different perspective.

By the logic in this thread, anyone who ever makes a donation is just doing it for a tax write off. Donations only matter if it's 100% of the revenue gained; regardless of other factors that may apply. Come on :rolleyes

I'm bashing the fact these companies only donate 10% on average when they could be doing more to help the cause instead of lining their pockets.

I bash when they are deceptive on what is being donated and where it actually goes. Be upfront and give me the information. Then I'll decide on the worthiness. I also disagree with same causes and charities year after year.

And I'm sorry but the basic reasoning of 'be the size of them or don't criticize' will always be bashed by me. There are better arguments

And believe it or not, some of us donate without writing it off :nerd:

I agree with what you've been saying.

For a company like the NFL charitable donations are literally worth taking for granted—their lawyers tell them to do it as a tax write off and it's essentially mandated by their status.  So how much and what they actually do with that money is what really matters.

The NFL dedicates a whole month to cancer research. That's 32 teams, 4 games each. Thats 50-60k people at each game. How do we know how much money these people are donating ?

Millions upon millions of dollars are being generated for cancer research because of the NFL. And dudes are complaining? Wow.

Susan G. Komen foundation is one of the worst charities in the country in terms of how much they actually give to charity vs. what they spend on marketing, events, and salaries though.

NFL and companies alike are playing the average citizen like a fool!

They are putting Leah out there for the average American to donate part of their pay checks to fight cancer.

Totally cool with that.

My problem comes from where the money goes and the hypocrisy of profiting more on a campaign based on donations then you actually donate.

Makes ZERO sense IMO.

They are basically selling her image,

NFL only donates $11.25 for every $100 spent for the pink products
Forgive me for wanting the NFL to donate more than 10% on this cause. Great they donate millions a year, awesome , they could be donating even more and making more of a difference. No clue why it's hard to see why someone is perturbed by 11.25 donated for every 100 by an organization that makes billions each year.

Didnt Leah's own dad put her out there?

Leah is probably getting GREAT treatment. Plenty of other people are probably receiving GREAT treatment because of this. But of course, it's a problem . Because NT.

No he didn't.

The Bengals organization did.

But what are the total numbers of the pink products ? Bring me the numbers on how much revenue the pink products are generating before you throw out the 11% figure. 11% of 10, 15, 20 million ...?

Right, exactly.

I mean they're probably making a profit before any of these "charitable" donations come into play.
