He should've taken that 72 Millie and ran. He's gonna regret that ****.

Son was the last QB to get that draft money and that was highway robbery, son almost did it again.
yup.. was feeling himself wayyyyyyy too much on that one.. especially with his injury history

curious what the guaranteed money was on the deal though, injury clauses and out clauses and all of that were on the deal though

The only people I ever see talk down the 07 Pats are Pats fans. It's how they cope with that L. When is the last time we saw a team go 18-0?
Ah yes, typical Ballerific post.

If you think I was discrediting the Giants win, then you're wrong.

The further we get away from that season, the better I can appreciate the "accomplishment" of being that close to perfection. But they had real flaws, and it was apparent before they even got to the Superbowl.

Again...even if they win, they aren't the GOAT NFL team to me. They're not head & shoulders better than every team that's ever played the game.

Doesn't mean I'm ******** on them. It's just the truth...*shrugs*

And btw...I felt that about them before that game and I still do now.
I disagree.

To me the 2007 Patriots are one of the greatest teams of all time.

I'd give teams like 1985 Bears, 1989 49ers,1998 Broncos or 2004 Patriots an edge because they won the Super Bowl.

But the 2007 Patriots are up there and definitely the best of the missing rings group that includes teams like the 1998 Vikings, 2001 Rams.
How are you disagreeing with me here?

I'm just saying they're becoming slightly overrated in a historical context.

There's a difference between saying "one of" and "THE greatest"...

He must've let friends or family blind him to his true worth. He should've looked at his performance compared to who else is making that kind of money. Even if there were clauses and requirements in it it's a lot more money than he's going to get now and I can't imagine he would have gotten much more had he done really well.

Well. To be fair though, even I think y'all are a bit too harsh on Peyton sometimes.

I'm probably the only Pats fan here that shows him love.

Gotta let him breathe man. One day Tom might look the same and then what?

JPP will be back before Cruz, I can confirm :frown:

Feels like each week he's supposed to be closer to coming back but you never hear any concrete news. Was his injury that much worse than initially thought. I'd much rather see his TD dances than whatever ODB keeps doing

Yeah, it was worse than initially reported. He re-injured his calf, not even cleared to practice yet :smh:

Although it's only Week 9, there's a chance (slim as of now) that he may miss the entire season if his MRI results don't start improving :frown:

As much as I hate the Giants, if he wasn't my dude I wouldn't even care

Mindblowingly enough,I'd say yes . Even better than 2010 TB imo which has beenhis benchmark prior to this season for me. He used to be a scarecrow in the pocket, now he can actually by himself some time and avoid the rush when needed instead of folding like a chair .

Eh to me I don't think so. Its just his flaws don't show as much in games when you can dump down or go with short passes and throw it to Amendola, Gronk or Edelman to create.

He def has worked on the mobility when pressured but as much as people slander Peyton and his arm or ducks thrown down the field past 20 yards, Brady is just as bad minus the football being a duck. Those deep kite floating inaccurate throws he makes are :x too

yup.. had to have been some guaranteed money on it.. and he could just do what others do when there is only a year or two left on the deal IF he actually stayed healthy and played well renegotiate for a longer deal with more guaranteed money and years

I mean, he is playing with one of the worst offensive lines league and Gronk is having to stay in and block more often than not but still putting up huge numbers. Might not be more impressive than 07 but (if he keeps the pace up) it's gotta be up there.

Tommy ain't ever gonna look like that. IDC IDC IDC

nah i've always said that i respect Peyton and acknowledge the greatness whenever it's been a serious conversation about QB play. but among the usual banter in here...i'm all aboard the slander bus. gas it up, JJ and Rolly :pimp:

Sounds like he has a Reggie in his crew

Not even, most of that is usually in jest though . Gotta let off a bit sometimes after all the craziness that was spewed over the last 10 months .

I was lowkey sad seeing him as washed as he appeared earlier this season tbh, like I said before, the league is more fun when Peyton's in the title chase (to hell with the Ravens )

Seriously, playing with UDFA's and rookies on the line man . Plus it's not just his dink and dunk stuff that he's doing well like people love to say. There's not much of a deep threat but he can still throw the deep ball well when he wants. Check his stats when throwing outside the numbers, they're better than any recent year.

Imo,what he's doing now is about as impressive as any other season he's had

but we're the insecure ones

The way you Pats fans talk about the 07 squad proves y'all are the insecure ones. 07 Pats team is the best NE team of all time. None of the other teams that won were better than that squad. I'm really curious what the ending would have been like if they went 13-3 or 14-2 that year. Would it have made a difference?

Always lumping us up,I just said they're one of the best squads ever imo

Thought this was funny...

@RapSheet:
One bonus for new #Colts OC Rob Chudzinski: QB Andrew Luck, who battled rib & shoulder ailments earlier, is fully healthy now.

This too

Yeah is Chud throwing his QB under the bus? Setting him up for failure? Calling out the organization for lying earlier? Why even comment on it

no one is taking anything away from your precious SB victory that year. it was THE GREATEST UPSET of all time. 11 point dogs. no one is taking that away from you guys.

as far as the 2007 squad being the greatest? that is debatable. last year's team was way more complete. you want to talk greatest Pats TEAM in recent years? there's an argument for 2004 and for 2015 in there. gotta have it on both sides of the ball. 2007 was a team that just got you into a track meet 6 minutes into the game and forced you to play one dimensional. they could only beat you with the high flying offense. 2004 and 2015 could beat you multiple ways. and the defense could also win you games.

if the Giants can keep teams to under 50 points, Super Bowl round 3 would be epic

Ksteezy might even make an appearance
