Being mad at Hardy is dumb tho...

He DID pay his debt, he served his suspension and paid the broad in a settlement.

Be mad at the NFL, his ex for reaching a settlement, and the NC court system for letting him off.

*waits for some dumbass to say I'm defending him*

This logic

It isn't defending Hardy but it is silly to me that someone couldn't be mad at Hardy as well (if we are assuming he did this). Just because someone 'pays their debt' (questionable regardless but let's assume it's adequate) that absolves from anger toward the initial action?

I'm not referring to being mad at him for the actions...
I'm saying being mad at him for only serving 4 games and being free is dumb.
I think he's a ****ball human, ftr

Bruh the Brian Banks situation was terrible and it truly sucks that happened to dude but that doesn't mean the woman Hardy abused is not telling the truth.

So women are not always telling the truth is saying a whole lot of nothing, I could say the same about men.

Of course men are wrong too, it is about accountability. I don't take sides, and I'm neutral in all situations. I could care less if you're a family member or stranger. Bill Romanowski assaulted a teammate. Still played. Josh Brent wrecked his vehicle from drunk driving, a fellow teammate perished in the crash. Still played. Donte Stallworth, manslaughter, killed a guy while having had a few drinks. Still played. Dany Heatley killed a teammate, while speeding in his Ferrari. He is still playing in the NHL. Mike Tyson did prison time, after a rape conviction. Got RIGHT back into the ring, after he got out.

You sound like you are being biased, and picking sides, based off media opinion. Have a mind of your own, for a change.

Posting the sad situation with Banks to justify defending Hardy is insulting to Banks

Insulting? I was pointing out the fact that the woman who falsely accused Banks, ruined and stole Banks' career away from him, by lying. The woman involved with Greg Hardy, if she really was a stand up woman, she would not have settle out of court. She would have wanted him PROSECUTED, smart guy...

My opinion does not come from a media bias I stated earlier where my opinion comes from. I noticed a while ago people in these situations tend to have a negative opinion of women and I began to research and look into why that's the case. That's the reason I think the way I do. If anything from what I've learned is that the bias from society as a whole is against women in these situations and that include the media as well, so I do have a mind of my own when it comes to this stuff because I took the time to learn about these situations and how it's related to how society treats women in general. I could say the same about you but I wouldn't say you aren't thinking for yourself because that would be trying discredit your opinion and I don't think that would be fair to do.

Still can't get on board with telling victims how to act in these situations

I was raised in a household of 6 women, I was the only male. Don't ever discredit my knowledge. I've never disrespected a female. Never called her out of her name, or put hands on one. Never groped a woman, etc. Again, you sound ridiculous and misinformed. I'm sure you've got male family members who are convicted felons, or, have had domestic violence, or assault cases over their head. If not family, friends or associates. I bet they're guilty too. If a dude puts hands on a female, I want both sides. If he harmed her, premetitatedly, he deserves to be convicted of his wrongdoings. If she provoked or threatened him first, she has to be punished too. If a guy is out doing serial violence against women, he needs to be dealt with.

Just curious, would you apply this logic to a teenager and adult as well? If a 13 year old was violent and came after an adult (or even provoked/threatened), are they justified in striking back? Should the kid be held accountable and punished?

I love how growing up around women makes you an expert then you accuse the dude of having felons in his family because his opinion differs

Dude I never descredited your opinion I said that's something I wouldn't do in the last part of my previous post what are you talking about? And yeah I do have a flamember that is a convicted felon ( falsely accused and convicted of a crime he didn't commit) And no I don't have any friends that have assaulted a woman or family members (at least that I know of to be fair). I've actually had an uncle who was stabbed by his ex-wife. And again you can keep calling me misinformed but like I've said I've taken classes on this stuff where these DV cases and rape cases where we studied and researched this stuff so I am far from misinformed. I said I wouldn't descredit your knowledge yet you continue to discredit mine.

Still can't get on board with telling victims how to act in these situations

Agreed. I'm not sure who's referencing who with some of the comments without quotes attached.

In this case from the pictures her injuries look excessive. I personally believe Hardy is guilty from all I know about the case. I'm only defending his right to play.

My issue with the cash settlement is this. We live in a world were people will do ANYTHING for money. Inflicting self harm in a attempt to blame another person happens. So I'm not jumping out on any limb to condemn another person. Cash settlements always raise a red flag. Anything involving money period should.

Exactly it's not fair to tell a victim how to act in these situations. It's easy to say what you would do and tell other people what they should do when you are not in their specific situation.

Sad how people let their own experiences cloud their common sense.
Anybody with two eyes can see that piece of **** deserves to be in jail, what about that is so outrageous to some of you?

And don't get me started on you dude's who think these women are "weak" because they can't sit through court proceedings and other traumatizing ****. You know how strong you have to be to just suck up the fact that a grown man whooped your ***, and you know nothing is gonna happen, so you just be quiet and take whatever money they throw at you? That's taking the easy way out? I wish I lived in the same world as you all.

If you have even one woman in your life this story should anger you.

"Greg Hardy may have beat the living hell out of her but he's not Jack the Ripper so..."

That's the type of logic in here

One minute I see outrage he's not in jail. Then the same people say they understand her taking the money. The only person who could put him there choose not to and took the money.

So are you guys mad at her for not prosecuting him? Mad the system gave her the option to take the payout instead? You can't have it both ways.

When it comes to me yes I think Hardy deserves some jail time and I wish she wouldn't have walked away but at the same time I'm not gonna get mad at her for not doing so because it's understandable for reasons a few people in here have explained multiply times. All that being said does not mean I can't call Greg Hardy a trash person.

And when it comes to the system I do think thats a problem. It's can't be done away with but I do think there has to be a way where for certain crimes not be able to payout but still protect the victim from facing something they may not be able to. I'm not sure what the solution would be to that though.

I'm speaking for myself and I feel like you can't always look at the settlement out of court option as a slight to the victim. How do you judge somebody who doesn't want the hassle of reliving that moment, over and over again? Isn't money the least she deserves after being beaten by this man?

How do you tell somebody how to handle a situation like this?

You can't tell a person what to do or feel. To make matters more complicated here's another scenario.

What if Hardy does this again? How would that victim feel knowing her attacker would be behind bars if not for his first victim taking the payout? As long as he's got money he could continue to terrorize if his victims continue to settle. Unlikely but very possible.

I'd personally like to see settlements of violent and heinous crimes be done away with. Those individuals should have to face a jury. They are a threat to the public potentially and shouldn't be allowed to simply buy their way out.

I agree. She should've taken it to court, whether it was traumatic or not it's the correct thing to do. The guy was awarded a free pass there because he is rich and was able to afford paying for it outside of court. I have a hard time sympathizing with her if she cared more for the money than properly prosecuting someone she believed was a dangerous and violent criminal, and if the accusations are true that's exactly what he is. We can sit and debate about it but it's over now and we have no say about what goes on.
