The Chargers playoff contention has nothing to do with the parking lot picture.
I asked an honest question and still don't see an answer or opinion on it so it must not be that important.
I thought this was a football thread...
Poor assumption on my end as was your assumption that this was just a random parking lot picture.
The players had just visited visited the kids and were playing one for the photographer.
How often do we get to see players being themselves or just having fun while doing positive things in the cities they play for? Honest question.

I've been here my whole life. I don't need to validate who is from where or how or when. I don't really do care.
Apologies for the assumption. This is our introduction to one another. Nice to meet you. :pimp:

Thought that was Al Harris for a minute

Raider Nation is everywhere

I was so surprised when I went to Seattle last year on how many cars had Raider stickers on them.

Every fan base is well represented here... A few have their fair share of crazy members (me included) but nobody too aggressive or bandwagon-y

True.  Outside of the Pats the vast majority of those fanbases are bandwagoners/front-runners.

Pats unfortunately have a lot of fans from Massachusetts

*Fans of those teams on NT are cool though.  I'm talking elsewhere.
All of those fan bases are bandwagoners/front runners, including the Pats. Heck, most teams fan bases are like that.

Teams like Pitt and Gb have the longest season ticket waiting lists and show up to away games regardless of their record. How are they front runners or bandwagon? If you stay on it forever then you are just a fan of that team

49ers had a wait list for season tickets for over 20 years. My father was on the wait list from 82-2003 and they called the year after he passed away.

1.  That's because the teams have been good forever.

2.  The vast majority of those away game "fans" have no connection to the city.

The Packers have one of the biggest fanbases in the NFL in the smallest city.  I have never met a Packers fan from Green Bay.  Yes they like to say "they like small town teams, or it's family owned" or whatever.

But c'mon...  You know why they root for that team.

Why do you need a connection to the city to root for the team?

If a fan knows the history of the team they root for and follow them well, that's a good fan. Regardless of the original reason they started to cheer for them.

Raiders also have an iconic cultural cache.

Too true. And how many other teams can claim two major cities as home cities? The Rams come to mind, but their cultural cache is not what the Raiders have. And I'd imagine there are a lot more Raider fans than Rams fans. Baltimore doesn't claim the Colts unless you're talking about older folk.

You don't, but if you choose that team because they are successful I don't really respect it.  You're missing out on much of the fan experience.

As with the Yankees/Cowboys/Lakers supporters of the world.

To me the Packers are the St. Louis cardinals of the NFL, along with their fans, and everything that comes along with that (the bandwagon aside).

Nothing like the vibe of the city when the hometown team is having a championship run

Yeah every few people pick a non successful team or a team without a star outside their viewing area.

The only ones I can think of right now are MMG and Buc Em.

The worst fans are the ones that support 1 college for their football team and another for their basketball team

College I can only support my alma mater. I mean I legit paid the university all that money and my degree has their name. How could I root for another?!

Pro teams, do what you want. There is no personal connection (except in rare circumstances), they don't care about you, so fair game

I picked the Giants because my grandfather liked them, despite being from VA

Anyways, how I feel about certain fanbases here...
Every Packers fan I've met in real life is an incredibly white person, most of which have never been to Wisconsin, let alone Green Bay. 75% Can't explain why the team is called the Packers. One guy I know's family owns a share or stock or whatever in the team and he went to the Superbowl a few years back. He's the only real Packers fan I know

95% of Steelers fans here can't name the last QB or spell their current QBs name. Whenever they're questioned about their allegiance to the team: "How many Superbowl wins does YOUR team have??"
They're the Cowboys. Rednecks and trailer people LOVE them. When was the last time they went to an NFC championship game? The early 90s?
People who have lived in Virginia their entire life and say they like the team because of the colors or because of the quarterback despite the team's recent success.
The area I live in has a lot of uptighty-whiteys from New York/New Jersey that are Giants fan. Most of them are incredibly old and clueless about football.
