The worst fans are the ones that support 1 college for their football team and another for their basketball team
Hey man... I do that

I like Virginia Tech because of my mom/brother and I got into basketball much later because of my dad (who likes Syracuse)

 at the spoilers

See I knew NT could come up with better lists on the reason to hate a team than those ones posted a month ago which just repeated the same stuff

I picked the Giants because my grandfather liked them, despite being from VA :rolleyes
Anyways, how I feel about certain fanbases here...
Every Packers fan I've met in real life is an incredibly white person, most of which have never been to Wisconsin, let alone Green Bay. 75% Can't explain why the team is called the Packers. One guy I know's family owns a share or stock or whatever in the team and he went to the Superbowl a few years back. He's the only real Packers fan I know

95% of Steelers fans here can't name the last QB or spell their current QBs name. Whenever they're questioned about their allegiance to the team: "How many Superbowl wins does YOUR team have??"
They're the Cowboys. Rednecks and trailer people LOVE them. When was the last time they went to an NFC championship game? The early 90s?
People who have lived in Virginia their entire life and say they like the team because of the colors or because of the quarterback despite the team's recent success.
The area I live in has a lot of uptighty-whiteys from New York/New Jersey that are Giants fan. Most of them are incredibly old and clueless about football.

 repped for the perspective.

College I can only support my alma mater. I mean I legit paid the university all that money and my degree has their name. How could I root for another??

Yes that is definitely extra strange to me.

I do kinda wish they were better at football and basketball but at least they have a heck of a hockey program  :pimp:

Pro teams, do what you want. There is no personal connection (except in rare circumstances), they don't care about you, so fair game

dead @ the "they don't care about you.." cause its spot on

It's like talking to my friends who are big soccer fans and want to root for Spain or Germany because the U.S. isnt that good.

My feeling is, sorry, you're stuck with the team that you're born into. Yeah you might have a couple of choices because your dad is from
Ghana and your Mom's from England but it's limited.

Same thing with other pro sports teams. Just doesn't feel right to me otherwise. You got no choice!

Give me enough time and I could probably do a rundown on my experience with all 32 fan bases in the Charlottesville-Richmond area of Virginia.
I don't know any Browns, Jags, Titans, Rams, or Bucs fans though.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Anyone on here? I don't know any on here

They know who they are.

*raises hand*

georgetown doesn't really have a football team. i mean, my friends and i played a game of two hand touch with 7 of them who were on scholarship and beat them. i know it's only two hand, but still...piss ******* poor, man. i actually almost went to michigan just because i liked their football team since i can remember, but decided career wise that wasn't smart

I think you could fit Georgetown's football "stadium" into Michigan's stadium at least five times.

bruh...my high school had a bigger "stadium" than georgetown's

******* harbin field...so lame
**** is kind of embarrassing. Baseball field is garbage as well. I still think they need to knock over McDonough and put the basketball team back on campus. But I guess that's for a different thread.

Just curious, have you ever been to wisconsin before?  The first half of the first sentence is accurate, but based on your percentages, is it far to conclude you have only met 4 packer fans?  Most Packer fans from the state of wisco are quite knowledgeable of the team and that history.

question on NFL.com stats.

I looked up defensive stats, I searched defense - rushing. browns are listed at #1 with 475 season yards, but when I look up their 3 games opponets rushed for about 110. where's the rest? DST? or I am reading it incorrect

I'm from the Bahamas.. So my general rule is the team should be bad when you start rooting for them (essentially no hoping on the bandwagon)

But I'm generally in favor of people rooting for home town teams, unless there isn't one and then you go with the above

If you're college doesn't really have a decent team in certain sports I get rooting for other teams you may have rooted for before attending that school.. Or if you go to a small school rooting for a bigger school maybe from your state or whatever (parents school or something you would have been exposed to as a child)

I'm pretty much against bandwagoners

Like I was a Red Sox fan growing up, but completely lost interest in baseball on the whole once the Red Sox won in '04.. Also once I got out of college and law school and started working I pretty much cut things down to nfl and NBA (with Olympics and World Cup soccer thrown in every couple years)

Bahamians are notorious with their bandwagoning.. There are a ton of fans of certain teams were it isn't hard to figure out they don't really know shhh about the team
