Missed out JJ. I can send a few Terrible Towels. Join the Nation

Nah that's a cool story though :pimp:

I went to boarding school in Jacksonville in 98 so the team was relatively young, was fun to see

Was there for that beat down they gave Marino on his way out

As for my family it's full of Giants / Cowboys fans.

1 49ers fan
1 Vikings fan
1 dolphins fan

And my pops and few cousins are steelers fans.

And honestly if not for the Texans I would've been a steelers fan :nerd:

I got two uncles who are hardcore patriots fans, probably the only two who I legit give credit to for being actual patriots fans from back in the 70s-80s

Dudes were trying convert me before i even knew what the hell I was really watching.. One gave me one of these when I was a little kid that I refused to wear

I was born and raised in Florida, and have been a Cowboys fan since day one (Mom is a big Tony Dorsett fan). Bob "Bullet" Hayes went to FAMU, and is from Jacksonville. When they hired Jimmy Johnson, drafted straight UM players (Russell Maryland, Darrin Smith, Kevin Williams, etc )and Emmitt Smith (Michael Irvin is from my hometown, Ft. Lauderdale, Emmitt is from north Florida) and signing Deion (From Fort Myers, Florida, my all-time favorite athlete :pimp:) I was in euphoria as a kid. I never liked the Dolphins because they never drafted homegrown talent. Always drafted Big 10 players.

But, I am a fan of the Marlins (although Miami now :rolleyes) and Florida Panthers. Both clubs actually had arenas and stadiums in Broward. I just can't rock with the Dolphins.

My Cowboys wooping Pittsburgh in superbowl 30, when I was 8 years old is an entertainment highlight for me. I was worried when Bam Morris scored, and Deon Figures recovered the onside kick. I was literally crying because I thought Pittsburgh was making a comeback.

Although I was born and raised in Manhattan I became Colts fan because of Pops who has been rooting for the Colts since 1960.

Love hearing stories about the Baltimore Colts.

Funny thing pops has never called them Indianapolis Colts. Lol

Dude literally will shed a tear if the Mayflower truck clip where it passes the sign in Owings Mills that said Baltimore Colts is played. :frown:

And when I came around I just liked the teams pops liked. Was dressed in Colts gear as a baby. Lol

Ahhh the memories.

GO COLTS!!!!!

I'm a 49ers fan

My oldest brother(RIP) was a Vikings fan, my older brother is a Chiefs fan, my younger brother is a Texans fan, my youngest brother doesn't watch football really...

My one uncle is a Jets fan, the other is a Titans fan

The rest of my family not into football

My family is all over with the teams

Me: Born in Seattle, raised in Houston, Texans and Seahawks fan
Mom & Sis: Texans and Seahawks fans when there's a party/celebration going on
Dad: Warron Moon, Adrian Peterson, and Terrell Owens fan

Have some younger cousins who are Packers fans because they've "been watching Rodgers as long as [they] can remember". I think Rodgers was drafted when they entered middle school or something.

I'm first generation American in my family along with my cousins and brother so our parents weren't huge football heads. We ended up going with the Raiders and hald season tickets for 7 years straight. 7 brutal years.

With the exception of the ones who are originally from TX and are Cowboys fans, most people in my family are Lions fans.  Grandpa became one in the 50s when he move up here from NC.  He got to see this team win 3 NFL titles.

Hopefully I'm able to witness this team win at least one

Teams like Pitt and Gb have the longest season ticket waiting lists and show up to away games regardless of their record. How are they front runners or bandwagon? If you stay on it forever then you are just a fan of that team

1.  That's because the teams have been good forever.

2.  The vast majority of those away game "fans" have no connection to the city.

The Packers have one of the biggest fanbases in the NFL in the smallest city.  I have never met a Packers fan from Green Bay.  Yes they like to say "they like small town teams, or it's family owned" or whatever.

But c'mon...  You know why they root for that team.
Any "older" went through some ******, ****** years in between the teams of the 60's and Favre coming along...

Packers in the 70's and 80s were :x

Why do you need a connection to the city to root for the team?

If a fan knows the history of the team they root for and follow them well, that's a good fan. Regardless of the original reason they started to cheer for them.

I've always thought people who have that mindset were really short sighted. Anyone who uses that to say their fan hood is better than another man's is a moron in most cases IMO.

I was a bandwagon Cowboys fan, I'll be the first to admit it. I chose them in the early 90's because my father was such a big 49ers fan. I hate that cocksucker and wanted to piss him off  I'd like to think the fact that I stuck through the late 90s, the Gailey/Campo/Quincy years as well as every let down year since Parcells took over would wash away why I became a fan.

But then again, I stopped giving a **** what anyone thought about it a long time ago

I Live in TX but the one year i grew up living in Tennessee was the year the Titans moved there which was also the year i started playing football, so ive always been a Titans fan

I've been a Floridian my entire life and I promise you I've run into as many Yankee fans in South Florida as I have Marlins. I understand why of course, being that South Florida is a prime destination area for northerners particularly of the retirement age. And of course the fact that the Marlins were an expansion team
