What happened?

0:01 left on the clock, 4th & 10, and instead of throwing it to the endzone to anybody, they throw a screen to Cecil Shorts with hardly any blockers. He gets hit, fumbles, and a Falcoms LB takes to for a TD. Shorts seems to get injured on a late tackle as well.
