So having a All time great Hall of Fame wide receiver mentor doesn't count?

One that had strong work ethic and went thru some BS like Randy did and could relate....didn't help Randy at all?

I still find it funny that no one talks about how a 39/40 year old Jerry Rice goes to Oakland and immediately becomes their #1 option, helps Rich Gannon win MVP, and they make it to the Super Bowl his second year there.

But hey, it's all the HoF talent that surrounded him throughout his career.

Who said it didn't help?

It didn't help him get to a Super Bowl like having a HOF QB, HOF RB, HOF S, HOF DE, HOF C, HOF HC, etc etc that Rice did.

You consider those to be equal footing for the two receivers do you?

And the stick'um, don't forget the stick'um.

If you say Jerry isn't the GOAT because of stickum are you saying Barry Bonds isn't the goat as well :nerd:

You said Randy didn't get play with HOFers til later in his career?

How am I supposed to take that statement?

Is it wrong of me to assume you are saying Randy didn't play with HOFers til late in his career which I think you mean Tom Brady, which therefore implied Cris Carter doesn't count?

It just comes off to me as misinformation.

I'm trying to figure out who the HOF RB and HOF C are Jerry played with?

I hope that's not more misinformation.

I've never claimed Bonds is, no way for me to know.

Ruth, Mays, Aaron, Gehrig, Clemente, etc.

I said HOFerS, plural for Jerry. Multiple.
Randy had Cris. Is Cris even in yet? Or is he still waiting?

And Roger Craig and Jesse Sapolu (sp) are who I'm referring to. If Craig isn't in, then I'm wrong on that, he was only an All Pro I guess. But Sapolu is in, I think. Maybe I'm wrong with him too. I'll double check.

Well I mean, you're the one dude on here that watched them all play

Bart Starr, Unitas, 1939 Texas A&M, Babe Ruth, Mantle, Bill Russell, Bob Cousey

I tell you fools all the time, I'm not even the oldest one in this thread.

And I was wrong, Sapolu isn't in the HOF, nor Craig. Craig is on the waiting list, but not inducted. Sapolu was just on all the 9er Super Bowl teams, but no Hall yet.

So Rice only had 4 at once, not 6. My bad on that.

I'm a Skins fan and always believed Irvin was better then Rice.

Irvin was vocal and emotional leader of those Cowboys teams. His college career makes up for the gap in numbers between himself and Rice on the pro level. Irvin had a better body of work as a WR college and pro.

Irvin better than Jerry Rice? no way in hell

I remember someone saying Luck should win ROY because he was better in college than RG3 and RW. Was that you?

Damn, his college career is worth 11,000+ yards and 132 touchdowns.

Had no idea Michael Irvin was the greatest college player of all time. Learn something new every day.

But Rice is a different caliber receiver.. Can't compare them really.

Then again can't really compare anybody to Jerry..
