Prevent a 18 year old from getting a job? I don't give a damn if it hurts the product. These dudes deserve the right to play if they want to. You care about the players health and well being but have no problem with them risking their well being for free on Saturdays making millions for other people.

NFL football player isn't the worlds most dangerous job either.
Your mixing two arguments.

I'm in total agreement on the compensation or lack there of, of amateur athletes.

The rule isnt necessarily in place to save players from themselves though.

It's to help the NFL have a free minor system and help universities profit off student athletes for a long possible.

That could be cool, if the NCAA wasn't always trying bust players for receiving any extra benefit besides scholarships; all while selling student athletes jerseys and other player merchandise.

At the end of the day, the NFL is club and they can basically make their rules in accordance with the CBA though.

The minor leagues/college football will remain. I'm not saying it can't hurt the product or many will make it. It's just wrong to me considering all the dangerous jobs a 18 year old can apply for no problem.

Boxers go pro young. They fight grown men. We don't bat a eye.

And ya know it :pimp:

I do believe the Dolphins will play strong, but the pats will win. 30-21

Which is true. But the Dolphins beat the Pats once a year...
Still think the Pats will win this one though.

How funny would it be to see a practice squad alum in Butler pick off Tannehill tonight?

And you haven't won in Gillette since 2008

Good luck though.

If 18 year olds feel like going to the NFL and taking the risk and NFL teams feel like paying them who are we to stop them? It's their decision.

Just like one and done college players that go to the NBA and get injured. It's their fault they didn't go for that free education and degree that many people would kill for.
