2015 10 Best and Worst States to make a living

Housing is so expensive here in Seattle. So glad I managed to land a 6 figure job the week after I graduated college

What career field are you in? Sounds like a software engineer Seattle salary. I have some friends that started out that high out there.

My cousin has a two story home Pearland, all the fixings

I Remember going to her graduation from Texas Southern University, then her wedding :smokin

Them Cornbread fed Texan Sistas

went to an old burrito joint out here and it's damn near 10$ for some carne asade fries :x

Moved back from NYC which is pricey itself. I find myself doing less and spending more

. But on nothing good...

There are way too many people moving to Texas. Dallas and Houston especially. I see so many out of state plates now, way more than I did a few years ago in the same area.

I refuse to read Forbes articles anymore, sick of that click through each one ********. Put them all on 1 page. No surprise Texas is number 1 though. You make 50k there and you are doing nice, can be in a new construction ~2000 s/ft house in a nice community on the suburbs, new car, everything, especially if you are lucky enough to have no or minimal college/car debt

Who the **** trying to live in Wyoming...

Wyoming is pretty awesome.
Hunting
Camping
Skiing
Anything outdoors

Cheap land, good jobs, no sales tax on food, no state income tax...

It's not for everyone though. Glad I grew up there and live there now.

Jersey didn't even make the list. so I guess that's a good thing, somewhat.

Always been enamored with the idea of moving to California, landing some tech job in Silicon Valley or something, preferably Google. Seattle is also a very appealing visit I'll have to make sometime before I have kids.

i dont even see why virginia is on the list for one of the best states to live in considering the whole state is eating off northern virginia. Virginia hella expenisive with all those property taxes states taxes emission test.

I'm going to assume because of job opportunities, but you are 100% correct. Love my state, but a lot of development needs to happen in all areas outside of NoVa.

not gon lie hella jobs up that way i use to contract up in NoVa, but the housing market is crazy high and offsets the job salaries . Got to come off 300k+ for a new townhome :x

Yup well you gotta think about it. You have couples out here pulling in 200K-300K/yr some more than that.

If your pulling in that kind of money a 300K mortgage is nothing. Cheaper than renting currently.
