FIGHTING THE NEW DRUG...

Some of the arguments against porn, such as that it gets in the way of "love" are kind of weak. Maybe love isn't as great as you thought it was if you think about it:

At least with porn what you see is what you get. And I'm sure that the vast majority of the sites/campaigns against porn are just Bible waving "You need to find Jesus" promoters in disguise.

I am pretty sure that porn is NOT an addiction like a drug, which is an analogy that is used in this thread. I can forget about porn completely if I'm having a good time. If you're on vacation and are thoroughly engaged in your experience for long periods, you sure aren't thinking "Man, I gotta get my dose of porn", which is what you certainly would be doing if you were a drug addict. Hypothetically, if porn was as limited in availability as addictive drugs, I doubt that porn addicts would go to the same lengths in order to obtain a porn DVD that drug addicts go to just to get a new fix. I am convinced that most porn use comes from plain boredom.

I first saw porn when I was young, in my early teens or maybe even before. Then several years passed where I wasn't exposed to porn, mainly because it wasn't nearly as available then (first half of the 90s) as it is now. Then one day I was suddenly exposed to it and I couldn't believe how powerfully graphic it was, and it was just the most dull hardcore porn imaginable in crappy VHS quality. By consciously trying to avoid porn, you're bound to get exposed to it sooner or later and snap. You think you're disciplined, but in the wise words of Stan Marsh:

You're way better off trying to control your porn consumption than trying to avoid it completely, which is bound to fail sooner or later. You shouldn't let porn dominate your life in any way - either by A. having the urge to constantly watch it or B. constantly thinking about how to avoid it, trying to set new records for periods you've been without it and feeling proud of yourself when you go without it for whatever amount of time.

I understand where you comiin from, but self control and addiction is not easy.

 I'm sorry but looking at porn has never made me think about harming let alone killing or raping someone(Or having sex with dead bodies for that matter). That was in him before he started watching porn.

I think the only thing pr0n ruined for me is my standards in women. I'm talking about gradually over time critiquing and passing up on females mentally because they don't have enough mass or this or that.

These females in the industry these days are baaaaaad, fake or not. You just get so accustomed to seeing hotter and hotter females and it's hard to picture yourself smashing anything subpar. Idk, maybe it's just me

It takes a hold of your sex drive. Habitually watching porn, slowly takes your sex drive away to actually accomplish it in real life.

Emotional it makes you feel not as worthy for females. You start comparing yourself and see girls mostly for their bodies.

It actually makes it difficult to love.

This explains it for me lol :/

And being socially awkward doesnt help either...

But the question is, if all that is accomplished already, would stopping gradually bring it back? Or are we doomed? :smh:

The feels.

Thats what it's for to readjust your natural instincts. Anything can go back to it's natural state, it's hard as hell. But yea.

Man I have crazy high standards since I could remember. I was never addicted to porn and I assume I watched it way less than the average man. But I still wonder if pron and looking at pics online or on ig did that to me.

This I could genuinely believe about people, cause IG is a pretty warped view of what these women actually look like.

With all the right lighting, photoshop, angles, outfits etc some of these broads look flawless, but reality is all too often a different story.

Well if you listened, he said it was those who were deeply addicted to pornography. Makes sense too..

Those serial killers start watching porn and become aroused, after years of addiction, what's the next level? They become carnal, which is another trait the inner man has along with sexual desires. Who knows.

Nothing wrong with porn. All the no fap stuff is doing too much imo. Y'all just watching the wrong thing. Of course obsessively watching actresses play a role will distort your real world perceptions. HGF >>>>> over all that manufactured pron.

Obsession seems like a better word than addiction.

I've been in a 3rd world country without internet/phone/computer for a month & didn't suck D for some porn due to withdrawal.

All you gotta do is get some *** and all addiction should go away. If not seek help. When I was in a drought for about 6 months I had to fap once a day. Desensitizes you to real girls too which is terrible. All It took was one time of not getting it up coming out of the drought to realize I had to stop. Stopped for a month and that hasn't happened again. Only watch like once a week now bc I've consistently had sources of getting my nut

Your logic makes no sense
You'll never see a dude bring a stolen microwave to a pawn shop for some porn is all I'm sayin'.

My moms was mad addicted to pain meds and I never seen her do that.

point is, addiction can't be all summed up into one thing.
