What's wrong with being a young "sneaker head"

I am only 14 and have been into sneakers for forever, but never knew that people actually were this crazy about sneakers. I started this "hobby" about 6 months ago, and have many great experiences.

But, I see a lot of old school sneaker heads dislike younger "sneaker heads" I kind of want to know why, like I try my best not to follow the hype and buy what I like, But a lot of older sneaker heads don't like young sneaker heads and all call them "hype beasts" Like, I don't want to be a hype beast and I try to always buy what I like and ignore the hype, but it's super hard to.

So I am wondering, If all "OG" sneaker heads hate younger sneaker heads. I also like to think I have pretty good sneaker knowledge for my age.

also want a way to make more money and some tips on collecting from old school sneaker heads. if anyone has some suggestions on my collection, tell me.

heres my collection:

Toro 4s, tech grey/oreo 4s, green glow 4s, White cement 4s, university red kobe 9 elite low, knick foamposites, and fire red 5s

Thanks!

Curve.

On a serious note, you'd really be better off investing that money in NKE (Nike stock), but we all get it. You're young and wanna stay fresh. IV's are dope so you can't go wrong there.

You're about to enter the age where "the man" grabs you buy the balls financially. You're buying into giving these shoes value when you have so many more things you could be doing with that money, especially saving it. You're gonna go into college and owe tuition. You might convince yourself you need a credit card and pick up some more debt. Then maybe charge a few shoes thinking you're going to flip them. Then you get a little change in your pocket and you think you can do this full-time. You quit school or don't devote as much time to school and you get scammed once, then you owe the credit card bill, don't graduate and still owe tuition.

I'm obviously exaggerating but you asked for tips on your collection. You aren't buying what you like, you're just trying to get what other people are cool. Would you ask advice on what shirt to buy? What food to eat for lunch? How to comb your hair? Just do you and buy what you like. If you try to get into this for the money, you will lose. Once you calculate the time it takes to do this, the hours trying to get shoes, you'll make more money by working a regular job.

You mentioned you have: Toro 4s, tech grey/oreo 4s, green glow 4s, White cement 4s, university red kobe 9 elite low, knick foamposites, and fire red 5s

At 14 you should be saving for a reliable car to take you to and from work, college tuition, travel money for after high school.

Take just the retail on the shoes you bought. How much is that? That's over $1,000 dollars. You want something tangible that you could have done with that money? You could have taken a trip. Keep on saving and you can take a trip to Europe, Australia, wherever. Don't worry about growing your collection, grow as a person. You could be out traveling but your resources are tied up in shoes collecting dust in your closet. I'm not drying to be a jerk, but get your priorities straight.

If I was 14 again I would have made sure I went to a great school on a scholarship...but honestly I regret a few things but not much..I did/experienced alot of ish at a young age

Mann I was so crazy about sneakers when I was 14, I wanted all the jordans, bapes, sbs

when I was 14 a sneakerhead at two pairs of kicks

live and learn young man, nothing wrong with being 14 in general, starts the growth of manhood

At 23 I don't really care much when it comes to sneakers, they just need to be decent looking and most importantly comfortable. But I do splurge on boots every now and then as an adult...but I also have a **** load of other things to spend my money on like books, social events with friends, car maintainance etc

I said the same thing lol..man I could care less about kicks right now...only sneakers I want are the ones I couldn't get as a kid

The problem is that these young sneakerheads are spending hundreds/thousands just to buy whats hot at the moment. The supreme lineups are a great example.

I will say this..I've never sold a pair of sneakers(worn or otherwise) for less than I spent on them. In fact when I lost my job some years ago selling off part of my collection is what held me down.

 Ah former sneaker enthusiasts hatin' on the new wave. A lot of dudes just salty for a few reasons, I'm not even going to get into that. You dudes know exactly who you are.

Older generations love to hate younger generations, whether it's with sneakers, music, etc. Sometimes it's justified, sometimes not. Many older users, especially in General, regret all the money they spent on sneakers and are actually just trying to look out for the younger kids though.

One thing I've noticed from when I first got into sneakers till now is that I'm finding I want more casual and comfortable shoes that can be worn everyday. My tip would be to spend in moderation (if you're 14 you'll probably outgrow your shoes right?) and to expand your tastes from strictly basketball shoes.
