The draft has come and gone, years of discipline and consistency have manifested this chance for prospects to call themselves professionals...and it's only the beginning. Now you earn your stripes, humble yourself and work your *** off or get bled out the game and forgotten. No Boys Allowed! Who will live up to the hype and revitalize the game? Who is the next face of the league? Who will make teams regret passing on them and who will make them regret wasting a pick? The rookies are up next

Predictions

ROY - D'Angelo Russell
Bust of the draft - Kristaps Porzingis
Steal of the draft - Anthony Brown
Undrafted sleeper - Robert Upshaw
Most likely to get traded after 1st season - Jahlil Okafor
Most likely to demand a trade - Mario Hezonja
Longest career - Stanley Johnson
Player who won't improve on any of their weaknesses - Emmanuel Mudiay
Player who will reach their projected ceiling - Willie Trill Cauley-Stein
Best dressed - Kelly Oubre
Losers of the draft - Tie: Boston/Philly
Winners of the draft - Los Angeles Lakers

Hoping the best for Hezonja only squad

Mudiay the fav for rookie of the year as long as they trade Lawson ....he'll have the ball i in his hands and run that up tempo in Denver which he thrives in, should be numbers :pimp:

Man im just hoping my Sixers dont trade Okafor and trade Embiid instead. Give Saric to someone else too since he wants to stay in Europe smh

Also wish we kept KJ :smh:

So much sadness in being a Sixers fan :frown:

Calling Kristaps a bust is too mainstream. WCS or Stanley would be my guess.
krispy will be looked down upon for years because people expect a top 5 pick to run out of the locker room and score 15+ PPG but real fans know hes a project that will take years to perfect.

how long would you give a player until you can actually call them busts? i say 4 seasons

Damn, I was thinking about turning the draft thread into a rookie watch thread.

This will suffice though.

I feel like Stanley is un-bustable where he got drafted. Although it'll look bad if Winslow is killing **** out in Miami like I expect him. At worst Stanley is a solid player with very good defense and can run the floor and hit some corner threes. Everybody needs those guys.

Kaminsky IMO is the most likely to be a bust.

I read thru the whole draft thread and it seemed like everyone loved Kaminsky up until he actually got drafted. What changed?

I think if he was drafted around 16 or lower he would have been solid value. But he was drafted at 9 over Winslow, Oubre, Lyles, Myles Turner and Booker. They all have higher potential than Kaminsky, and he landed on a team where he's just adding to the swiss cheese of a defensive front court they already have.

I'd take Kaminsky over everyone but Winslow.

Big Frank is just a bad fit for the Hornets. Put him on the Pacers and he's money.

I don't get why everyone's acting like Kristaps is gonna take 3 years to even see the court or something. He's over 7-1 without shoes and is 230; he's not a beast by any stretch but he is at least capable of playing in the nba for gods sakes. I bet he starts contributing a lot sooner than most people think. He's hella talented and has a good head on his shoulders and a gym rat mentality.

I was gonna say Jahlil was easy lock for Rookie of the Year because he is the most ready player. Butttttttttttt I have a feeling he may dog it a bit being in Philly.

Why the hell would Philly trade Okafor?

He's literally the only offense on the team

Highly doubt D'Angelo can win ROY with Kobe coming back and another FA to help carry the load....I think Towns takes that award home

Kaminsky will have bust written on him until he leaves Charlotte while Cauley-Stein flourishes in his role with the Kings

Mario Hezonja reached a buyout, he'll be joining Orlando this season. Hennigan said he should play in a couple summer league games.

Towns should be the ROY

and i expect Winslow and Russell to bust.

I don't understand how anybody can think Russell will be a bust. The way he handles the rock and his ability to shoot there's no way he can be a bust. Not even possible. He's too creative with the ball in his hand.

Well they have to trade one of their bigs eventually . I think I said it in another thread but towns will probably be the true best player in this class but d lo and jahlil will have sexier stats and take the award
