Which means the gay population of america 1,0842,600

It is also more than half the population of asian americans. But I doubt you promote inequality for Asian Americans.

An issue that affects 1 in 33 people is still a pretty big issue.

Where was I promoting inequality?

Clearly, agenda driven post reading. I was applauding that community for getting their issue noticed.

Myy displeasure is with us (society) having tunnel vision on issues that I personally think require as much, if not much more, attention. And with the media for only giving the limelight to sexy/instigative/inflammatory issues.

There are 22 million veterans and if I thought the issues that group of people faced should get more attention there is nothing wrong with that. As free thinking people we all have our own agendas on what is important to us. Doesn't mean i don't support this cause and am promoting inequality.

yea i just hope that we can finally move on now and focus on other issues .... i always thought Gay marriage was a wedge issue anyway.

I didnt say you did drama queen.

I was simply saying that 1 in 33 is stiLL a large number of people. You were acting as if these "deviants" are rare people.

Our entire middle class basically being in poverty due to wealth and racial inequality affects over 80% of the population and yet we so easily dismiss progress about that. Or, worse we focus on singular incidents (like Michael Brown) and aim to put a band aid (fix bad cops) on a knife wound (inequal education and resources for minorities).

basically, and the only reason homosexuality even matters is because a lot of people in high power positions who control a lot of what happens on this planet are gay...they push their agendas in different ways behind scenes ( :x )...

it is so much easier to think there is no higher being and accept this whole life as chance...every one thinks they have it all figured out but in reality have no clue what they are getting into once they are gone...when you are on that death bed, that last breathe going to have you thinking what if...

to each their own...but society needs to humble themselves, people really starting to think they are the actually movers of this world...

humans don't control ****...and in the end when you are in that 7 by 4 hole in the ground, you really think its just over? :lol:

its the end of the sopranos and everything just turns off?

man i rather believe in a higher being and be wrong when im dead than not believe in a higher being and be wrong when im dead...

people need to start investing on insurance policies of the grave...

You can still believe what you want to believe. This doesnt affect you unless you are gay. You dont have to go to gay weddings. You dont have to be friends with gay people. You can live your life and it wont be any different.

Not to religious derail, but is this any different than people who actually believe? Follow me here, they worship not because of love but of fear (holy fear as they call it) of burning forever. That's not a choice or an act of love, that's an ultimatum

To me the extremist are the only people who can claim their religion. I know I am gonna get flack for this post but IDC.

If you go to a church 99.999999% will NOT stone a gay person to death as it says to do so in their bible because no amount of religious conditioning can convince them it is the right thing to do but according to the bible they should be doing it.

And im sure there are plenty of examples of this in all 3 of the main religions.

All I have to say is thank Odin that few people are dumb enough to follow the word for word instructions from the deity they claim to follow so much.

i gave that 'insurance' analogy only to say that you should invest in something after this life as well not just this life...


and if i was a non-believer i would carefully evaluate my life, because as much as you think you know that there is nothing when you die, what if there is? then what?

whats your answer if once you die there is a god? just deal with it?

Other than the religion aspect, same sex marriage is big for tax purposes
If you were in a same sex union, you would be considered unmarried back then.
Now they will get a higher tax exemption due to the ruling.

So I have a question regarding this train of thought. If you're going with the "there could be a god so I better subscribe just in case" then which god are you going to choose? There have been millions of deities. How do you know which one to choose? If you chose wrong then what?
 
My boy always tells me this. I better believe, just in case.

Well, all knowing God knows I don't believe, so how can I "fake" believe just to be safe? He always knows I don't believe.

You can't FORCE yourself to believe in anything, so how can you tell someone, "Hey, you should just believe just in case."

Makes ZERO sense
