Asian On Asian Racism? Have You Experienced Or Witnessed It?

I haven't seen Asian people talk bad about the Japanese in real life. My grandfather was a POW of the Japanese during ww2 and my fam never talks bad about them. My dad will only buy Japanese cars and tv's.

Strong SN to post ratio.

This aint exclusive to asians either. Africans are just as bad. With Nigerians especially. All africans hate us NIgerians. Even other Nigerians

Duh.

Same with South Asian American chicks.

More western standard of beauty conditioning. Folks is brainwashed and they don't even realize it.

Not only do these chicks want to be white, they want white guys.

My sister went to a school that was 1/3rd Asian. Many fotb and something like half of them would only date white men. A lot of the guys were frustrated. Understandably so because Asian guys have the hardest time dating interracially so it aint like they could date outside their race as easily.

One thing that annoys me though is when you go eat at different places and when they find out you don't speak their language, they stop being nice and service falls off the face of Earth.

I really, really hate this when it happens. I'm a really small ethnic minority so I look Chinese and Vietnamese but people always assume I'm one or the other.

This describes too many latinos. So many times I have bought or tried to buy something from a latin store then someone who speaks spanish, would come through and they would stop paying attention to me. Even when I came in with the intent to spend a lot of money. :smh:

Ah man I never understood the Nigerian stereotypes from Africans until I actually visited Lagos last summer.. :x. I've met plenty of Nigerians who are good people and even have a friend that I've known since childhood and consider my bro who's Nigerian, but my goodness... I had possibly my worst travel experience there and I can't count the number of times dudes tried taking advantage of/ripping us off in restaurants/shops etc right to our face. Even my family friend that I was visiting, who is Igbo and works with the Police Department, co-signed the reputation that Nigerians have across the continent  :smh:. I still mess with the culture and food but man, don't think I'll be visitng again anytime soon tbh

Yeah, that happens a lot with Asian girls. It's happening with White girls and Black guys now. Well, it's always happened, but moreso today. White girls specifically seek out a Black guy. It's self hate, insecurity, pop culture. No different with how its been with Asian girls and White guys.

As far Nigerians I could see why everybody hates you. Nah just playing.

The vast amount of skin bleaching is phenomenal! :smh:

BRUH

Growing up I never knew why my mother wanted me to use that skin-whitening soap :smh: Recently took a trip back to the PI for a wedding and all of my cousins didn't want to step out into the sun before the ceremony in fears that their skin will get darker :rolleyes

I've also seen those skin bleaching creams being sold in pharmacys off all places in many African countries. The conditioning is real :smh:. That idealized Western standard of beauty has been drilled into many foreign people's heads |I

The rankings go like this:

Japanese
Korean
Chinese
Thai
Vietnamese
Filipinos
Cambodians

as explained to me by most Koreans (from Korea). They think and state they are the best, but have that imperialized self belief of Japan being better. They think they are above the Chinese and the rest are just below in any order.

It's all quite lol actually. Their racism toward other similar asians is different than the racism shown toward other non asians (e.g., black, mexican, etc)

Asians have been out in Cali for a few generations so I don't know if it's different there but Asians in NYC seem to really dislike each other. Chinese and Korean people have a strong dislike for each other but honestly the people that get it the worse are Filipinos and other islanders. They are regarded by mainlanders as low class and almost dirty. I guess it's the skin color. of course if you look at Filipino TV all of the actors are kinda white skinned and not so Filipino looking so I guess it's no different among Filipinos. We are all brainwashed by the colonialists I guess. I'm from the caribbean I would know.

Personally I like the islanders as they are generally MUCH more easy going and will mix it up with anybody unlike the mainlanders who mostly stick with each other. They will also never try to run you over for a seat on the subway. Also, I love Filipino girls so I might be biased.

Did you ever watch District 9? Notice how the gangs were Nigerian despite the fact that Nigeria is 6.5 THOUSAND miles away from South Africa

Yeah none of that surprises me. Many Nigerians pretend they aint even Nigerian when the leave Nigeria. Me and my dad be telling everyone we Ghanaians.

Im only NIgerian by culture not nationality but I know born and raised Nigerians who dont care to go back anytime soon.

The Koreans I came across back in NJ feel a certain way towards the Japanese

Crazy man...

Sun-kissed honeys be the sexiest.

Love tan skinned south asian honeys.

Some of 'em be bad AF.

Brown is beautiful. Folks need to embrace their melanin.

This was obviously a horrible act the Japanese committed, but you need to let that stuff go. It was done decades ago and not happening anymore. Yeah, it would be nice if Japan owned up to what they did, but they won't. People need to move on and let love in.

Words sound very familiar.

Very familiar. Crazy how nobody tells the Jews to let it go.

Culture shock. Dark skin implies you've been out in the sun aka day laborer.

I'm Thai. Was born in the homeland and came here as a kid so I got to familiarize with both cultures. My family doesn't understand why I go out in the sun or beach topless or in tank because my skin will become fairer

I don't have any Japanese friends so I can't speak in that behalf. My Korean friends only date among themselves though. One of my friends was feeling me and tried to introduce me to her parents. I'm a clean cut guy and educated. Dad gave me the Kobe death stare because I wasn't Korean.

A lot of this stuff is old school mentality. I don't see much with the new generation.

i dont know what Koreans you spoke with but as a Korean-American who has grown up in a heavily populated Korean community (SoCal) and has traveled back to Korea and still has family back there, I have never once in my life encountered a Korean person who believes that Japan is better. Korean people are prideful to a fault. It would go against every cultural belief for them to admit that Japan is better than them. In fact the historical relationship between Japan and Korea is a major driving factor in the cultural makeup of Koreans today.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Han_(cultural)

Koreans got that chip on their shoulder and that relentless drive to be better than others (and also the need to let everyone and their mama know that they are better) in part due to the Japanese occupation.

The Japanese screwed all of them. The Filipinos, Korean, Chinese. And a good part of why those ethnic groups still hate them is because The Japanese deny the atrocities they've commited and rewrote their history books. At least the Germans admitted to what they did and made their peace.
Anything I can read about this? Or can you quickly tell us that don't know? What did they do?

Here is just one quick summary about Japanese occupation of Korea

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_under_Japanese_rule

So i can only speak to what I've experienced. As mentioned before, East Asians (Japanese, Korean and every variant of Chinese) typically feel they are superior to Southeast Asians and South Asians. Korean people hate everyone. They even hate themselves.

This girl I knew wouldn't play tennis with these other kids because they were Korean. She was Vietnamese.

I gave her the  face and walked away

i would flip japanese and korean. i feel like in asia, koreans are the "white people" of that continent. everyone wants to be with a korean, everyone wants to look like them (media) and they think they are above everyone else. not saying that whites in america think they're above everyone because im sure in the white community there is a hiearchy as well amongst people of their skin color but when you're white you do experience more privileges and get the benefit of the doubt more often than any other race.

as for me (american born chinese), i feel like americanized chinese people have mixed feelings towards chinese people who came here from china and are FOBs. its definitely a different culture and different way that they present themselves and act so its not surprising that there are mixed feelings.

A big part of Asian Americans problem is this. Why do you call yourself an american born chinese? Are you not an American? Do you call any White person in the US, an american born whatever they are? Do yBlacks call themselves an american born african? Your *** was born here, your *** is a Chinese American.

Your people have no identity in the US because of little details like that. I am not upset. I'm just pointing out a detail thats exclusive to the Asian American community. I'd like to know what you guys that look at yourselves as such think about it.
