OFFICIAL 2015 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

I have Ellington, Marshawn, Sankey, Ryan Matthews, Tevin Coleman and Reggie Bush on my team. 12 person league with .5 ppr.

Ellington just went down with a PCL injury. Do I put a waiver claim on Chris Johnson (and drop Reggie) or do I try to go after James Jones or Harvin?

Or do nothing?
Chris Johnson is washed up. You want David Johnson.

Well since Dez is out Ill have to slide ODB from my flex into the WR spot to go along with Julio.

I need Foster to hurry back to shore up my RB lineup.

I am hoping Eifert keeps producing and that will be a steal pick.
you drafted Dez ODB and Julio?

what are you in a 4 team league.

who are the Dez owners targeting on the waiver as somewhat of a decent replacement?

my other WR that i currently have are

Maclin

Wallace

Garcon

Quick

also have CJ anderson and that looks like its going to be a waste of a 2nd pick

Dez owners - if available get T Williams on the Waiver.

One of the worst beats ever in FF for me last night...Down by about 25 going into SNF, I have Romo, Dez, Randle, Bailey...my opp. has Witten and J Brown (NYG Kicker) ...Randle does well, Dez does nothing...but I know I still have a chance going into the 4th Q...but Romo throws not one, but TWO TDs to Witten, canceling all of that out. Worst part is, Cole Beasley was tackled on the one yard line on one of them. And Brown had like 16 points

I'm not targeting anyone :pimp:

Jordan Matthews, Randall Cobb and John Brown will hold me down. Got Foster, Abdullah and Doug Martin fighting for a roster spot.

I did a really nice job this year drafting depth.

Damn, Ellington started off so promising .. glad I have Woodhead on standby. Really need Mike Evans to get back out there and also need Peyton to stop overthrowing Sanders because that was two easy TDs that cost me yesterday :smh:

I have Dez too but I think I'm stay put I have Demaryius Edelman Cooper and Adams but I didn't like how 3 of the 4 played so idk.....

Do you think Dez being out is going to effect Romo?

Got Dez and Julio with my 1/2 swing pick. ODB was my keeper for a 12th round pick.

I only drafted those 3 WRs. The rest was RBs, 2 TEs, 1 def,and 2QB.

Its a 12 team keeper league.

He got auto drafted by a team in my league before I could grab him as a handcuff. Dude didn't even know he had him :smh:

So I guess you're saying look to Moncrief, Jones, Dorsett or Harvin? Feels like all useable Backs but Chris Johnson are taken

Both David and Chris Johnson are just sitting in my league's FA pool. My only bench RB is Matt Jones. Should I drop him for one of them?

And drop Reggie Bush right? We don't expect him to do much as the #2 in SF?
Higher upside with one of the receivers. Don't expect much out of Bush.

Eh, anyone else you have? David Johnson has the better chance at becoming a starter/vulture so it's doable.

Chris Johnson doesn't deserve to be owned.

Really need a RB to emerge out of no where. Hill and Forsett were clutch for me last year, picked up off waivers and carried me to the ship for the last 6 weeks or so.

Whos gonna be that RB now. I just need a back up for Murray and Lynch when they hit their bye week. Literally no one available in the FA right now .. hopefully someone comes along around week 5

@RapSheet: #Colts WR TY Hilton is day-to-day with a knee bruise, source said. But team will be cautious. Could miss 1-2 games depending on how it feels

Not having to worry about Monday night is the best

I'm up 170.04 to 90.06 but my opponent has Julio, Torrey Smith and Rudolph going tonight. I have nobody (could have had Teddy Football but I played Stafford this week instead).

Ivory gawd cooked yesterday :smokin sucks I had Sankey riding the bench, would have been great in the flex. But Hurns was a productive play with 9 points.

For Dez owners...If you have good receivers that you're comfortable with for the next few weeks then maybe look at picking up an RB that you can plug into the flex spot while moving up your 2nd and 3rd best receivers into 2 WR spots. Just a little different thinking and some creativity, but it depends if you have a flex even or how many starting WR's you have to start. Just a thought though.

Moncrief is a guy who should produce very nicely with TY out. I'm upset about the dud Andre put up, but I'm gonna keep riding it a bit because the targets should still be there and the only league Bryant's injury worries me is in a league where I'm doing what I said above, as my WR is still very nice (Julio, John Brown, Brandon Coleman and Andre) and we have two flex spots, so I'm promoting David Johnson to one of those spots instead of going with a WR (WR is ideal because it's PPR, but it's all about damage control).

One last thing: I don't know if he's still out there, but Woodhead flew deeply under the radar in drafts and he might still be available. Huge bargain if you can get him right now. He's perfect for PPR, but even in standard, he's a redzone monster, believe it or not.

if PPR Lance Dunbar may be a real sneaky option to own. Mostly in deeper leagues though.

Woah, had no clue T.Y. is due out for a few weeks :smh: .

Colts owner Jim Irsay expects T.Y. Hilton to be sidelined a "few weeks" with a bruised knee.

Advice: Profootballtalk reports he'll undergo a precautionary MRI. Although it appears Hilton will miss at least Week 2, it's a bullet dodged after he left Sunday's loss for X-rays in the fourth quarter. Indy hosts the Jets next Sunday before traveling to Tennessee. A clearer timeline for Hilton's return should emerge within the next 2-3 days. Andre Johnson will be the Colts' supposed No. 1 receiver in Hilton's absence, but played terribly on Sunday. Donte Moncrief steps in as the clear No. 2, with first-rounder Phillip Dorsett the No. 3. Moncrief is worth a flier in 12-14 team leagues.

Just wrote an article on Week 1 Waiver Wire picks:

http://g42sports.com/fantasy-football-week-1-waiver-wire/

With Week 1 essentially in the books, it’s time to scour the waiver wire and grab the players who will make an impact this season, but haven’t been owned yet for various reasons.

Thanks to injuries to Dez Bryant, Andre Ellington and TY Hilton, a few players have emerged sooner than expected to become valuable additions to any teams in need of depth.

WR

If any of these guys are on your wire and you need a WR, there’s a pretty decent chance each of these players can slot in and be counted on to provide you something each week.

Thanks to Hilton’s injury, Donte Moncrief has become a valuable asset who will be fawned over this week. Moncrief is a solid receiver who was targeted 11 times this weekend. Andrew Luck has a solid rapport with Moncrief, and if Andre Johnson’s lackluster performance is indicative of the future, Moncrief will become the primary receiver and eventually WR2 in that offense.

Phillip Dorsett could be a sneaky play in deeper leagues, but not necessarily someone worth picking up until his role becomes more defined.

Stevie Johnson proved to be a tremendous outlet for Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers this weekend. He was targeted six times and made six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. Johnson is most valuable at the given moment thanks to Antonio Gates’ suspension. When Gates comes back his role may shrink, but for the time being, he’s a hot hand worth rostering.

James Jones emerged as a legitimate option for the Green Bay Packers. All the hype this week was Davante Adams, and while Adams is a tremendous talent, Aaron Rodgers isn’t going to force balls to people in coverage. Jones was open plenty of times and it was evident in his four catches for 51 yards and two TD’s. Jones won’t catch two touchdowns every week, but he’s a legitimate red zone target who can be a valuable asset and definitely worth owning.

Brandon Coleman—if you don’t know who this kid is, stop wasting time and get to know him. He’s going to feast as a red zone target for Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Brees targeted him seven times in Week 1, connecting on four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. If he’s somehow still on your wire, make the move to get him if you need help.

Deeper and keeper leagues must roster Tyler Lockett. The rookie WR may be in an undefined role at the moment for the Seattle Seahawks, but he’s an explosive talent who should emerge as one of Russell Wilson’s favorite weapons. Right now he’s more of a return man and occasional WR, but his role should increase throughout the year, and explode next season.

Dez Bryant’s broken foot increases the potential impact Cole Beasley and Terrence Williams will have moving forward. Either man is a solid PPR option if you need help at WR—just hope they can be focused and avoid fumble issues and flare ups as the season progresses.

RB

After consulting a buddy of mine about Andre Ellington’s potential this season, we came to the conclusion he’d be the most vulnerable RB to lose a starting job. With Ellington’s recent injury, the wheels are in motion faster than expected. The dumb pick to make up for Ellington’s ailment is Chris Johnson, don’t waste your time or a roster spot on CJ?K, he’s washed up. The real bell-cow you want to own, who not only has the chance to be the every down back, but a vulture as well, is David Johnson. DJ taking the starter’s job is reminiscent of Jeremy Hill last season with Gio Bernard. He’s going to run away with it, and Ellington, when healthy, will be relegated to passing downs and the occasional change of pace workload.

If you need a sneaky PPR play, Lance Dunbar has the potential to really become a valuable asset in deeper leagues. The Dallas Cowboys epitomized a RBBC in Week 1 with Darren McFadden getting the important downs and Joseph Randle doing the dirty work to set the Cowboys offense up. But the man lost in the shuffle is Dunbar, who singlehandedly helped Tony Romo carve the New York Giants defense on Dallas’ game winning drive. He’s worth a look if you’re rostering someone like Charles Sims.

It’s doubtful Danny Woodhead is on your wire, but if he somehow is, get him ASAP. Woodhead may be vulnerable to an injury eventually, but he’s very involved in the San Diego Chargers’ offense and is a favorite weapon of Rivers. He’ll catch plenty of passes and even be used in goal line sets for the occasional touchdown. Players in PPR leagues must own him.

TE

I won’t bother mentioning Tyler Eifert because he has NO business being on anyone’s waiver wire. If he’s somehow there, wow, you have the steal of the year. Eifert is going to eat with Andy Dalton as long as he stays healthy.

Jared Cook put in a solid outing this week, and could be worth rostering if you need a TE. Nick Foles targeted him six times, connecting on five passes for 85 yards. He’s a low-end option, but worth owning in deeper leagues.

Every year it’s the same story with this next guy: Jordan Reed. Tremendous talent who will perform well for you, when he isn’t listed as Questionable. If he stays healthy, he’s a great TE option who can do well for you. Problem is, he’s on borrowed time and likely to get hurt eventually. Kirk Cousins targeted him 11 times, connecting on seven passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Eric Ebron could be a decent option if you’re really desperate, and I mean, on scratching yourself at night as you roll around in bed thinking desperate. His hands are pretty lousy, but he is a physical specimen the Detroit Lions thought highly of when they drafted him. He caught four balls for 53 yards and a TD in Week 1.

Darren Fells could be a sneaky play moving forward. Carson Palmer connected with him on four catches for 82 yards and a TD. No clue if he’ll be consistent each week, but he’s worth monitoring.

Last year’s vogue pick Ladarius Green finally delivered with an excellent performance. His role is maximized with Gates’ suspension and will likely return to obscurity when the veteran returns, but for the next few weeks he could be a viable option. He had five catches for 74 yards and a TD, solid enough to be worth a look in 14 team leagues.

QB

Marcus Mariota proved to be a legitimate QB this weekend, chewing up a good enough Tampa Bay Bucs defense on the road. He threw four TD’s and zero picks, making him worth rostering as a backup in every type of league.

With Week 1 essentially in the books, these are the guys who can be added to your team and potentially make a solid impact down the road. Each player mentioned also represents solid value as sneaky DFS plays in DraftKings and FanDuel games. They should be priced very fairly and potentially underowned, making them great options for tournaments.

As with ever y waiver move, the effectiveness of each pick depends on who you’re dropping in order to add someone. Don’t be a knucklehead and drop a solid contributor, but if you have some aging vets or vogue names in the past who have been underperforming for years, you can make the move here to sure up your team.
